Aeroliñas
 

A european friend has to go Argentina in August. She was told that Aeroliñas have serious financial problems. She wants to buy an Aeroliñas ticket. The fares of all other carriers are much more expensive. Would you risk to buy an Aeroliñas ticket? Any news about the situation of Aeroliñas?

Don't risk it. I flew AEP-MVD one time on them and would never fly them again!

when i have a choice, i don't fly them. due to experiences on my 20 recreational trips to argentina & uruguay. however, somehow we get it worked out on the internal flights. i expect the flights to change when i book 3+ months in advance & go with the flow. however, on most trips someone there is looking out for us.

I think it's just a matter of time before Aerolineas finally gets put out of its misery...the sooner the better.

I was in BA last week and their were employee demonstrations against aerolineas going on. At the same time, they dropped service to a number of destinations, including NY and LA. The real point is that, if one needs to fly on a particular date, the odds of disruption are very high. It's similar to buying a restricted ticket on a US airline in the face of a strike deadline. It may work out, but if it doesn't, you can have great difficulty and/or cost in rebooking.
