Post Summertime Companion Fare Offers
 

Can the knowledgable FT'ers out there advise on the best Companion Fare (2 for 1, or similiar) offers this summer?

I'm flying SFO to Rome or Naples this summer (end of August), and am looking to book a great 2 for 1 fare rather than burning 140,000 of my UA miles getting Frankfurt on UA, then Italy on Lufthansa.

So far I know of:

Sabena - 2 for 1 economy class to Europe from a US "Gateway" city when booked with Mastercard. It's posted on their "Specials" page.

Delta / AmEx - 2 for 1. Requires the actual AmEx mailer (as I was just told by the Delta phone op). I don't have one, so no help there.

Right now I'm looking at ~$1300 for 2 tix from NY to Italy, plus $400-$600 for two tix to get us out to NY(the cheapest Sabena "gateway") from SAN and SFO.

Any other companion fares, or better offers?

(FYI: I'm UA Premier w/150k miles, American low-level with a few miles, no other significant FF status or miles)
