Which is better FFP? CO or DL
I just joined Delta's Skymiles and already have about 2500 miles in my account. I live in San Diego and travel to the east coast around 5-10 times/year. I'm trying to decide if Delta's FFP is better for General members over Continental's?

VSJetstreamer, welcome to FT. First of all, based on your estimated travel pattern of 5-10 trips from SAN to the East Coast, at the very least you will earn status in the lowest elite level (silver) of CO or DL. In fact based on how many connecting flights you take, you may earn mid tier status (gold). Therefore I believe that you should make your decision based on being at least at entry level status and not which program is better for general members. The place to look for information like this is the MilesBuzz forum where you will find threads like this one. BTW, is there a reason why you are not considering AA? I like em both!
I like both, settle on one and fly either and claim credit on the one you end up flying more often. Per my statements from DL and CO below...sometimes it is difficult to settle on one. ^

DL better program
Delta has a better program, better for upgrades especially for overseas. CO program is not bery attractive, so better to concentrate your miles in DL even if you fly CO.

Delta is better, but Delta is in bad financial circumstances.

If you are thinking in the very long run, and provided DL survives, DL has a lifetime elite status at 1, 2, or 4 million miles, while CO does not.
