Be careful switching. We just moved into a new house where SWB was the local, inter-LATA and intra-LATA carrier by default. I switched to AT&T for the 5,000 CO miles. That was on 4/10. On 4/12 the work order went through, at which point my long distance service quit working. It took nearly 3 weeks to get AT&T and SWB to work the problem out. Initially, SWB didn't have the AT&T 10 code programmed in the switch on my account (288). Once that was done, they weren't terminating the switch on an AT&T trunk -- we had to spend 2 days with the translations group at SWB to get that fixed. Once they finally delivered my calls to AT&T, AT&T had decided to put a block on my account, because they hadn't received payment from QWest (my old phone company in another state where we'd just moved from), even though I had a cancelled check from nearly a month earlier -- QWest just hadn't sent AT&T's portion on to them yet. Of course, AT&T billing said there were no blocks on the line due to any billing reasons, and I had to spend another 3 days working with their "repair" department to find the block.

What a fiasco. I used to be a spinner, and made probably $200/year in either cash or Blockbuster $50 rental cards, but after this last switch, I'm not so anxious to start this cycle up again. *sigh*

Well, guess I don't have to worry about MCI screwing on my signup miles. All 3000 miles posted today, only two weeks after I signed up. It was supposed to take 60 days to get the full bonus...
