ITN Works Again!!
After only a month or so of problems ITN seems to correctly filter by carrier!!
Now the next problem, has anyone noticed that the Travelocity Fare Display has started to display fares that you do not qualify for based on the date you supplied. For instance if i want to travel DCA - BOS on Jul 19, travelocity will incorrectly display fares only valid for Nov 1 - Dec 15. Anyway the ITN news is good!! rich ps. Although I have never scolded anyone for posting in the wrong forum I believe that people should make some sort of attempt to post in the correct forum and this does belong in General Travel Talk. Sorry about that. [This message has been edited by RichLond (edited 04-20-2001).] |
Not to worry, Rich! I'm glad you posted and personally I think news of this ITN feature working is a lot hotter than much of the info in The Buzz! Thanks!

Although I like Travelocity's fare-tracking abilities, it's frustrating when it offers a low fare for which no more seats are available whatsoever. For example, if I want to fly SJU-EIS on May 3rd, it shows a $79 R/T. Click on the fare, and I find that all dates for the fare are sold out, and then the fare expires. I have to click through the $99, $109, $119, $149, etc. - until I get to a $173 fare that actually has availability on ANY dates.
Not sure how to fix the problem without a lot of processing/searching on the server side, but at a minimum, you'd think it could suppress fares that were totally closed out and no longer available at all. |
I've just spent a week arguing with Travelocity about their 'fare finder' facility, which has now stopped listing anything but discounted coach rules (up until two weeks ago I could see rules / booking codes up to 'F' and including premium coach services such as BA's World Traveller Plus and Virgin's Premium Economy. All these have now disappeared.
I emailed Travelocity on this, and have so far had *five* different responses, varying from 'you could never do this' to 'it must be a problem with your PC (it is not). They refuse to say whether this is a commercial / policy decision. They have practically driven me back to a traditional bricks and mortar travel agent. ITN is OK, but it only lets me see the booking classes not actually get seats in them, so I then have to call a travel agent to book into my selected class. In other words, I should really just call the agent and not bother going on line! Andy [This message has been edited by andyjc (edited 04-26-2001).] |
