Need Help Buying Kelloggs in DC
Help! I am in DC and can't seem to find enough Kelloggs and at a reasonable price.
I have 500 doubling forms and since I can't use them on the 500 mile family size Eggo waffles at Costco, I need help in finding a store in Washington, DC area that can: - double coupons - has plenty of cereals or Nutrigrains on sale for under $2 each. If anyone knows a store owner, I mean business in buying a lot of these. Also, as I need miles, I am also willing to trade doubling forms for AA mile certs and also DL mile certs. Drop me a line. ------------------ "Fly me to the moon and let me earn alot of miles." |
I don't know if they double coupons, but Target has Crispix (12oz) with the AA miles on sale this week for $1.88/box.
|
KMart has Eggo waffles with the AA miles for $1.25. One drawback is that the waffles need to be kept frozen.

I don't know of any stores in the DC area that double coupons. I think Safeway used to double, but only up to a max of $1.00. Good luck!

In suburban Maryland, Giant (and probably Safeway) double coupons up to $.50 (to $1). Superfresh doubles coupons with up to a $1.00 initial value, but I've never tried it there and the sign says "see store for details". There are a few Weis supermarkets in the outer suburbs, like Laurel, where they double up to $.55. The problem is finding a good enough sale.
A couple of weeks ago, Weis had 18 oz Corn Flakes for 2/$3, with no limit. I was able to use some barely expired $1.50 off 3 boxes coupons and $1.25 off 2 coupons to get 13 boxes for $1 and $.875 each. I have many more of the expired coupons (they were from one of those in-store coupon machines at Giant a couple of months ago). However, I didn't get a chance to get back to Weis and I didn't want to over-do it with the expired coupons. In case anyone is wondering, the scanner didn't accept the expired coupons, but the checker proceeded to enter the discount by hand without examining them closely. I know this was a bit unethical, but it's hard to get too worked up about coupon abuse. |
Can't you buy NutriGrain bars (in a case of 4 boxes/400 miles) for $6.89 at Costco? I purchased a lot this way.
|
Yes, but it's 6.99, at least in Beltsville, MD. They also have the club pack eggos for $6.69 with the single 500 mile cert, but according to other threads, it's not certain that these can be doubled, and there's the freezer-space issue.

Worldbanker....I just finished reading about your account balances in the paper...why in the world would you waste your time with the Kelloggs promo??? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif I have slightly more miles than you...and would not waste my time with this...geesh.

Try buying the Pop Tart Pastry Swirls at Sam's (or Costco ?) for $4.96 for the pack with 300 miles. I do not know if they are 3 separate 100 miles certificates.
Also, in all my years of very extensive coupon use, I've never known a coupon to not scan because of expiration date- I don't think the date is even encoded in the upc of the coupon. If you trim the expiration date off, the expired coupons won't look expired. Don't do that, though. Since the supermarkets have 60 to 90 days after the expiration date to send the coupons in, they should not worry too much about expiration dates. Richn |

For me to accrue 860k between AA and CO last year, I would have had to have been on a flight to Asia or Europe every single weekend! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif (BTW, off to Finland for the weekend for the double miles on FinnAir promo! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif) ------------------ "Fly me to the moon and let me earn alot of miles." |
Just back from Sam's, and the Pastry Swirls do have 3 separate 100 miles certificates.

Be sure to check out the e-save site where you can usually get a rebate on many Kellogg products including the pastry swirls.
