Australian Flyertalkers please identify yourself
Hi all
I hope this is the appropriate forum to post this question. Lately I have noticed an increase in the number of flyertalkers from the land of the pacific peso (Australia). I'm interested to see how many other Australian flyertalkers there are. I suspect that there are quite a few flyertalkers located in Melbourne. To start things off I (ffhound) am located in Melbourne Australia and my principal frequent flyer programs are United Mileage Plus and Global Rewards. cheers Peter ps Our Kiwi friends can put their hands up too as they are so close and so many of them live in Australia http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif [This message has been edited by ffhound (edited 03-16-2001).] |

I'm from Melbourne.
Used to be use QF's frequent flyer programme mostly, since they were much better than AN in the 80's-mid 90's. When I started travelling more internationally, I starting using AN's GR, since their partners are much better than QF's. I was elite level on both, when they brought in their pathetic tier credits system, so I switched to UA Mileage Plus and was Prem.Ex. in just over 6 months. Should have switched sooner. I was only earning AN points to redeem them for the round-Australia trips I do each year, and now they don't allow them. |
From Sydney, via Adelaide, via Ballarat. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cool.gif
Many reading this thread will be interested if they have not seen it into a MOST highly informed new FT'er telling us about the massive new changes to the Qantas FF program: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum39/HTML/000184.html ------------------ ~ Glen ~ |
Well I am from Sunny Sydney, and I currently in sunny Sydney.
Fly Ansett about once a week interstate.....still using GR, as the tier credits suit my short hop flights......will be GR gold in about 1.5 months !!!!!! My 2 cents worth, hope ansett matches QF's FF changes !!!! [This message has been edited by alexbs (edited 03-19-2001).] |

Should requalify for 1K this year, all out of my own pocket (boo hoo) ------------------ UA 1K MEL A Star Alliance(tm) Member. |
I am from the other side of the Tasman sea, from Auckland, New Zealand. As you can see from the number of posts, I am not a prolific "poster" but have spent much time "lurking" on Flyer Talk. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Previously lived in Japan for many years and clocked up alot of Star Alliance points. Just got the new Qantas frequent flyer info out of the post today. Still need time to digest all the changes. |
Southside Sydney Australia
|
Currently in Sydney's CBD, moving to Singapore for a year or three next month. Will achieve EXP on AAdvantage this year using QF, BA and CX. Should make at least *A Gold, using SQ, UA, etc.
|
I'm an Australian from Brisbane in Queensland .Most of my travel is in *Alliance carriers and I try to direct my miles to UA's Mileage Plus. Now that QF's program is getting more competitive,I may review that policy.
