Fare Guide
 

Does anyone know if there is a hard copy Fare Guide which contains domestic and international Fare tarrifs between cities?

Fares change so rapidly these days, I can't imagine anyone would print one. It would be out of date before anyone got a copy.

The fares in the major res systems change up to 3 times per day. There isn't any such thing as a hard copy.

When you write the term "Fare tarrifs" do you mean the rules in the "Contract of Carriage"?

Grey Owl-- maybe you mean the monthly published OAG- Official Airline Guide. I remember a few versions of these: North American routes only, NMorth American Routes and Fares, North American Fares only, and then some for worldwide travel.

My impression is that these guides were mainly used my travel agencies that hand-wrote tickets and manually calculated fares.... it's been a few years since I've visited the Minneapolis library, where I used to find these books, but my guess is that, as 2 Many Miles mentioned, the fares they print would hardly be accurate since so much changes so fast nowdays.

At best, you may find a printed copy of the OAG with schedules only... I hope this gives you a place to start.

If you mean the "Contract of Carriage" there was something on a US news magazine show last summer about having problems getting a copy of some major US airlines "Contract of Carriage". Just for fun, I e-mailed Northwest, with whom I fly the most, and I had one in hand within 3 days. Just for laughs, I may try some other airlines, too.

Also, legally (in the US) an airline is supposed to be able to provide you with a copy when you check in. Not that in actuality that is the case....
