Had a very nice chat with China Airlines just now.

China states fare should be honored by Travelocity! They were very much aware of the UA "crazy fare". They will be doing some further checking to see how this fare was able to show up.

Is this some kind of bad joke?

The $0.00 fare on Ansett/Singapore Airlines stipulates that Earliest Travel is 1 April 2001 and Latest Travel is 31 March 2001.

Somebody at Travelocity has a twisted sense of humor. Must be an April Fools Joke.

I just found something interesting

Do 'Dream Maps' from Adelaide to Western Europe. You will get two $0.00 options.

Then in 'modify your search' select Therough the end of 'Feb 2002' on the drop down bar on the left and press 'search again'

You will now get 4 Ansett and 4 Singapore $0.00 options.

What does it all mean? - I have no idea but if you work out a way to book this let me know!

Oddly the "$60" (now are $US59 actually!) fares Oz to Italy still show but when you click on the city icons the best actual bookable fare comes up at $A2009 on Alitalia. (And getting rid of Dallas as default city was a REAL pain this time!)

HOWEVER, I did try Adelaide to Europe on Deram Map and came up with a rather amazing fare.

Adelaide - Madrid on Lufthansa for $A1387, or about $US675. An astounding price from ADL, which has basically no real It'l flights. And LH do not fly to OZ as far as I am aware, so the plot thickens! Madrid was the only Europe dest that came up with a real looking fare under $A2000.

Even more interesting the seasonality included June 1st to August 19, absolute peak summer season.

Even MORE interestingly it is made up of a Sydney "add-on" so I susepct SYD-MAD would be accepted. (Ansett paid fares SYD-ADL are about $US45 right now, so big deal)

Fare looks entirely kosher and bookable to me if anyone wants to try!
