SideStep trouble

I have suddenly developed trouble with SideStep on my home PC. The window comes up without a problem, but it stays blank. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as rebootting all together without success. Anyone else with similar problems that can offer help?
Thanks.

stc007,

I don't mean to encourage cross-posting but you should try posting this in the General TravelTalk forum, which is more suited to the type of advice you're seeking ... unless, of course, there's some bonus mileage for sucessful installation of the software. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I respectfully disagree with essxjay. This is an appropriate forum because the main benefit of SideStep is that you can search across airlines (or hotels) and still receive the BONUS MILES for booking directly on the selected airline's Web site.

As for the original question, I suggest contacting the SideStep support center. Here's the link:

It seems that Sidestep has rushed the product to the market. I had some other problem with Sidestep and I thought itt was me ( my computer). I contacted Sidestep and I was told that their were bugs in the program and they were working on fixing it.
I bet you it is Sidestep again.

I had enough SideStep problems about a month ago that I simply deleted the tool from my PC altogether.

Even when SideStep was working, I noticed that it would omit several airlines at random, and rarely scoured all major hotel chains - even when I knew that HHonors or Marriott rooms were available. I imagine it's still a great way to find US Airways flights quickly - but it was just too buggy and inconsistent for me.

Well, no luck so far. After their initial suggestions failed, I received the following reply...

TicketID: 10097
Solution:
Dear Sean,
We are aware that some users who could use SideStep before cannot
access it after we implemented some changes. Our engineers are working on
this and we hope to have a solution in our next release scheduled for
April 1st.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,
SideStep Support Center

Wait until April Fools, I guess.

Sorry.... It appears that you are not using Microsoft Windows.

At the current time, SideStep requires Microsoft Windows (Windows NT version 4.0, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, or Windows 2000) in order to run.

The current SideStep also requires Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.x or 5.x.
They just don't get it, do they?

I had the same problem with the window appearing but remaining blank. I found that simply clicking on the "search" button (I think it's a magnifying glass; the software is on another machine) displays additional fares.

So maybe it's not a bug so much as a "feature." http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
