BA what's up with those uniforms?

Just back from London on BA209, and what a wonderful trip it was in Club World,
But what's up with those Frocks the poor little Flight Attendants are wearing...
I've never!, wouldn't be caught dead in one! And those Hats, next thing they will be sporting a frumpy old purse like HRH Queen Liz.

1) BA has Stewards, Stewardesses, Pursers and Cabin Sevice Directors - not FA's.

2) 'HRH' Queen Liz??? It's Her Majesty you dimwit.

The Queen is not an HRH she is an HM. Her mother is also an HM.

In future please use the correct title.

HM Queen Elizabeth the Second, by the grace of God, Defender of the faith.

3) BA issue black/dark-blue leather handbags (purses in your disjointed English).

I always thought "HRH" was a perfectly properly form of literary address. (Certainly wouldn't want to use it if I were standing in front of her.)

I saw Lilly Savage there years ago though (before he/she was famous), but thats a whole other story [For our US friends, Lilly is a UK Rue Paul].

I prefer the 'Artful' myself. Give it a go on a Sunday lunch next time you are in London.

Just spent the week @ The Marriott Copley Plaza in Boston, and saw the BA lasses pull in every evening. The hats were a bit odd,
rather Madeleine-esque, but I didn't think
they were as completely horrid as you make them out to be.

They certainly do stand out though. I had suspected but wasn't entirely sure they were with BA until I spied the Speedmarque on a luggage tag.

Jetdillo: I like the Marriott Copley in Boston, the sports bar is a laugh (nice and close to the lifts so you can leave well-oiled without reception knowing).

I can't remember ever seeing the BA staff there though. But it does no harm to get friendly with them, they get reduced price drinks at the Marriott and Hilton!

I think I would have to get to know someone before I could call them "your majesty", afterall, that is in the opinion of the person addressing Ms. Windsor. Just because she is your majesty, that does not mean she is my majesty.

When I go to EWR I will check out the B-A flight attendants in their uniforms and see
what they are like. Maybe Marvella they wear different uniforms for The winter months from the summer months, and different uniforms for
different regions that B-A flies.

THe Marriott Copley Hotel is nice. So too is the Westin Copley. I have helped several very oiled folks find the elevator from that
sports bar at the Marriott.
