Eek!
Hi all
You know how sometimes you do a search on the Internet just to find web pages to see there is a web page that has mentioned you or your web page but that you didn't know about (sometimes you find some interesting surprises). I did a search on "FFhound" to see if anyone else had mentioned my nickname. This was the result http://www.usatoday.com/life/travel/...000/ltl260.htm The article is from last year and makes a brief mention of ffhound. I didn't even realise I had been indirectly mentioned. Mileageaddict and Milesnut also got mentioned (as well as Randy). Would this article have been printed in the paper version of USA today? cheers Peter |

This bit interested me. Wonder what the hits are now in 2001? The site, an offshoot of Webflyer.com, generates about 5 million hits monthly. ~ Glen ~ |

I only trust statistics that I falsify myself.
I am pretty sure that the figures given are correct ... BUT that every time you hit another forum and from topic to topic is counted. |

Well Doc, I and Rudi make up 159,000 of the 160,000 in that case. |
Peter,
Congratulations on your 15 seconds of fame. Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. Regards, one of the lurkers http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |
Hi again
(Thanks for the kind comment Maggie) But wait there's more... Seems I made the Wall Street Journal today! http://interactive.wsj.com/articles/...9876130731.htm "Bargains aren't all that uncommon," says Peter Berrett, a top-tier United flier from Victoria, Australia, who has joined in an ongoing online discussion about the ual.com incident. Last year, Mr. Berrett says he took advantage of a legitimate United promotion that offered a round-trip ticket for travel between Auckland, New Zealand, and Melbourne, Australia for $53. The regular fare on this route would have been close to $800" It's a great article however there's just one problem. As far as I know I'm not or ever likely to be a top tier United flier. I've no idea where Ms Costello got that idea. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif Perhaps United know something I don't? cheers Peter ps I must remember to keep an eye on the cover of Time Magazine http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif [This message has been edited by ffhound (edited 02-21-2001).] |
