I doubt that the airlines would offer (do they ever?), so you need to ask.

I've had UA and AA kits in last couple months or so from baggage area. Pretty much as mentioned above, and both pretty handy when your bags are impounded at customs as mine was on a 24 hour delay. The UA $500 whatever in vouchers, 2 free **** hotel nights, food and cab coupons, and free Systemwide upgrade coupons, and guaranteed Bus. seat to SYD was more gratefully received tho than the toothpaste!!

And does anyone supply CONDOMS in amenity kits??

You'll need to take Rudi's word for that one. RichardMEL has half the item in question it seems, as evidence!! WHICH half, he'll need to divulge. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I was once told by a FA on TWA that they were forbidden to give out aspirin for liability reasons! DL FA's will give you Tylenol, at least.

What if a kid drinks the mouthwash and gets sick? or the Woolite? But liability lawyers don't think that way, I guess.

Speaking as both an attorney and a medical student, aspirin sensitivity/allergy is a very serious problem for certain people. The last thing anyone would want is for someone to go into anaphylactic shock on the flight. Not only is that a life threatening incident, but it would screw up your travel plans big time, as you would have to divert to the closest airport!! Many times people don't know they are allergic to aspirin, and even if they do, I can tell you so many stories of bozos taking these meds notwithstanding their allergy. Finally, both aspirin and alcohol make the stomach bleed, and that is not a good thing for those who have any sort of ulcerative condition in their GI tract.

Seriously, I think including a phone card is a good idea.

If you ask, they'll usually give one to you, but including a 10 minute card automatically would seem to be more sensible. If someone forgets to ask, or thinks he has to pay the phone call from his own pocket, it would raise the irritation level, which is the last thing the airline should want.

I have recently received two overnight kits from British Airways (different trips, same lost luggage). In addition to much of what was listed above, it included a very nice t-shirt and a fresh (hopefully!) pair of underwear. Quite a nice touch, though I had to ask for the kit each time.
