Help with LAX terminals needed?

have ressies Lax to honolulu may 29 leaving 245pm ---still need to make ressies RT phx to lax and back on June 7.Is it hard to get from 1 terminal to another 1 to make connecting flights and how much time do I allow.Right now the cheapest I can find is $103 RT phx/lax on united,SW,AM West,or American.American's terminal is beside delta's or does it matter?Ichecked all the ind websites for especials but nothing now--thanks sorry my flight to hawaii is via Delta

If you are flying AA to Hawaii--as I assume from your message. The quickest way would be to fly United and then walk from Terminal 8 down to AA, about 8-10 minutes. If you come in on America West or Southwest you woudl be in Terminal 1 and take the airport shuttle bus (a big A on it). Allow 5-10 minutes for the bus to come around and then another 5-8 for it to get to AA's terminal. Either way it is pretty quick and easy. My only suggestion would be to allow LOTS of connection time if taking America West as you can count on them being at least a half hour late (and I'm being nice here!)

American has TWO terminals. One on each side of the loop, but within walking distance. I have done it.

The shuttle is fast also, but you do circle the whole loop.

LAXs terminal are built in a U-shape. At one end of the U you find Terminal 1 (with WN and HP among others), at the other Terminal 8 with UA Shuttle. The fastest way between T 1 and T 8 is to walk on the arrivals level straight across the two parking structures inbetween. It should not take you more than 5 minutes.

All walking from terminal to terminal around the U-shape on the departure level is fairly easy: You walk on a continous wide sidewalk, without any interruptions such as traffic lights, other roadways, cars etc.

Good luck!

I've done it often, just give yourself about 90 minutes between flights in case of a late flight. But with the LAX U-Shape it's pretty fast. You'll want to find out which AA terminal they use for HI trips.

Sorry, did I misunderstand, but is your flight with Delta? if so, I would fly with United, and just walk next door to Delta. If I misunderstood your posting forgive me. Although I am from London, I went through LAX just the other day so saw how it could be done. The only query I would have is how reliable United are these days. I don't use them so I don't know.
