Jet Airways

Does any one know if we can use any FF miles to fly within inida besides NW FF miles?

Under the Air India, Indian Airlines and Air France frequent flyer programme called "Flying Returns", one is able to earn and redeem miles for domestic flights on Indian Airlines.

I'm uncertain whether miles earned on Air France's partner airlines can be deposited into Flying Returns.

I'm going to move this over to MilesBuzz, as it's focused on using miles as opposed to earning them via a Mileage Run.

Northwest and KLM miles can be used on Jet Airways.

Air France Frequence Plus miles can be used on Indian Airlines and Air India.

From November, I believe Lufthansa Miles and More miles should be able to be used on Air India.

The 4 Indian carriers all have their own programs too. AI/IC run "Flying Returns", 9W has "Jet Priviledge" and S2 has "Cosmos".

I believe you can earn miles on Jet only if you are resident indian.
Besides, if you book in advance ( more than 30 days ) fares are pretty cheap
when you fly in india.
hth

btw, I didn't know you can redeem NW miles for flying within india.

The same intra-India award using KLM miles is only 15,000 miles plus they offer one-way awards for 7,500 miles - so Flying Dutchman is a better option here if you have the miles in both programs.

has anyone bought the reduced fair ticket to fly within in india? I believe it is cheap for INR if you buy 3 months or 30 days in advance. Do we have to pay in dollars since we live in the U.S? and pay full fair.

Check if Air Deccan flies to your destinations. Their fares are INR 700 (including all taxes) if you book 3 months in advance. You don't have to pay in dollars. I booked on their website (www.airdeccan.net) and charged on my credit card (turned out to be about $16 each way). Downside to flying Airdeccan is they don't offer inflight meals, although you can buy for about 50 cents and they don't have pre-assigned seating.

Did they not have major technical problem on their very first flight?

With pretty lax safety standards, I would rather fly one of the established players in India.
