Uh-oh! Is this going to takeover soon?

I was searhcing the AA website today, and went to their Mileage area, to see if you can buy miles, like at United (can you???). I never found out.

I saw a chart taht said Discount Economy, the kind sold on their website and Travelocity.com, etc. only gets 50%. Full-Fare, which on United can be in the thousands, earns 100%.

What other domestic carriers do this? Is United planning to follow? Being cheap, I'm getting scares http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Thank-you!

UALover7,
The AA website is a little confusing on this matter.
Almost all published fares qualify for 100% miles on an AA ticket. This should include all travocity and webfares. For more infomation check out Fewmiles wonderful AAdvantage website at http://home.webflyer.com/fewmiles/AA/fares.html
Note, if it is not on an AA ticket and on some other airline's metal than there are some fares that do not receive 100% miles.

Perhaps UALover7 was looking at the info for AA points, not for AA miles.
While all economy published fares qualify for full miles, discount economy ones qualify for .5 points per mile.
