LatinPass Points To Marriott !
 

Has anyone received their November transfer to Marriott yet ? None of us have!

Not yet, LP said that they made the transfer on the 6th, Marriott never received it and LP said that they would re-submit. Could it be a cash flow problem?

My request made on 11/13 showed up at Marriott yesterday.

Haven't received mine yet. It looks like the Marriott site only updates once per month.

I would conclude that the submissions on 11/6/2000 never made it to Marriott, but the ones the following week did.

I faxed my request on 11/1/00 (Latin Pass deducted the miles)and it still has not posted.

I sent one in wk 11-13, it posted to Marriott on 11/22

LP submitted mine on 10/30 (for Oct) and 11/6 (for Nov), neither have posted.

What was the figure on these? 30,000 a month or something, capped?

Did you guys read the new Amtrak scheme on this board? If that comes on as good as it sounds, it may be a better option?

I guess I'm a bit confused (that's on a good day). Does it go; LP>Marriott>Amtrak>UA/CO?
And the whole million gets transfered?

And what happened to Alaska? I've gotten AS miles when I've been on Amtrak before.

I faxed my request in early November, and they posted on November 22nd

I submitted my request on to transfer 30,000 LatinPass miles to my Marriott account on 11/1/00. LatinPass submitted it to Marriott on 11/6/00. This morning Marriott posted 60,000 points!

Nice to hear Marriott points "are a flowin"! That Amtrak scheme if it is anything like it looks now, will be a BEAUTY I feel!

Got mine 2 days ago as well. Faxed a new request for Dec. today. I wonder how long these will take?

Just as a note: LP told me that requests must be submitted prior to the last Monday of each month in order to be considered for that month. They only do point transfers on Mondays.

I need to take a Lan Chile flight in 2 weeks within Sth America. Are anyone's Latin Pass points good for that? Might be able to set up a trade. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Oz,

Transfers from LP to member airline FF programs are only valid on LP carriers. Thus U cannot transfer LP miles to ACES, for example, and then use on AF/CO.

Lan Chile is not a LP member airline ='s no dice for travel on Lan Chile. They R a new OW member.

U might be able to work a trade using AA miles or another OW member like BA, for example.

Thanks tvl4free Here is one that may be of use for someone to burn/swap some points if you can use them for Hotels as well as flights:

I plan to spend NYE in RIO. I know several on line places to locate deals for Hotels in the USA, and Europe, but have not seen one for RIO. (Also need a couple nights in Santiago Chile and 1 or 2 in Buenos Aires probably) Does anyone know where to start looking? The Hilton does not have a property at all there, (strangely) otherwise I'd love to burn some points! I do not believe Sheraton/Starwood does either which is also strange - darn nuisance as I have a few of those UA 50% off certs for there.

The UA 50% off certs are also good for Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Hyatt, Intercont, Libertel, Radisson, Shangri La, Sol Melia. Some of those chains MUST be down there - anyone know who?

Any help appreciated. Anyone with points that can be used there for Hotels (Latin Pass maybe?) please lets know, as we may be able to do a trade of some kind. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

My November request processed and posted to Marriott within two weeks. I'm feeling much better about my run this spring.

My Mariott posted in 8 days after submission by fax.

Rio does have a Sheraton, I believe.

They are sold out New Years Eve, unless You are a Starwood Platinum.
