Double Conversion

I need about 8000 additional SkyMiles quick. I have miles on another airline which I may convert to a hotel or other partners points program and then convert them to SkyMiles. Anyone have experience with this?

Sure, it's no problem.

X Airline ---> Hilton HHonors ---> Delta SkyMiles

But it won't be anywhere near "quick."

MRLIMO Nov 20, 2000 4:01 pm

Welcome to FlyerTalk, blankste. Here are several more ideas.
[*]Transfer miles from American Express Membership Rewards.[*]Transfer miles from Diners Club Club Rewards.[*]Purchase miles (5,000 maximum) directly from Delta at the rate of $25 plus taxes per 1,000 SkyMiles at time of ticketing.

Good luck!

I believe you can purchase miles as a gift and give them to anyone so if your still short of miles you can have someone buy you the balance and then give them to you...

You can sign up for a Delta Optima (American Express) GOLD Skymiles card and get a 10,000 mile bonus.

I second the Optima idea. I just got an Amex Gold Optima about a month ago under the 60,000 bonus mile promo, and the first ten hit my account pretty quick (relatively speaking).

If you need 'em *really* quick, hook yourself up with a nice Turkey Day mileage run http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Delta Optima is a great idea!!

I've got the new and decent offer from MCI recently: 5000 Delta miles at sign-up, plus another 5000 (5 month by 1000 miles).

Monthly fee/monthly minimum will probably apply.

anyone got any thoughts for blankste?

MolsonMiler Nov 28, 2000 8:11 pm

Hilton is the one I use for this type of deal.

goldelite Nov 29, 2000 4:19 pm

I keep a "bank" of miles in the Sheraton/Starwood scheme. Invaluable for last minute things like this. They never expire either. Top ups for awards on most airlines are then very fact and easy.

goldelite Nov 29, 2000 4:24 pm

oops duplicate.
