A year (and a bit) since the PiP

Ironically, I just realized that it's been about a year since the Party in Paradise (Hawaii "oldies" FlyerTalkers meeting in Nov 1999).

Wow, how things have changed since then. The PiP and FlyerTalk was a whole different place compared to now. That was back in the day when this board was friendly and useful, with little noise and controversy.

Thanks again to everyone I met there for a great time. Thanks to all of the supposedly "arrogant, elitist clique" (sans Merry and a few others who couldn't make it) who flew out to Hawaii for a few days to meet complete strangers.

On the last day, Rudi made some oddly prophetic remarks about the future of FlyerTalk to me. Time has proven him correct. I hail his vision.

And I wish I had been there to share the spirit of FlyerTalk with so many of you.

Djlawman, let me extend an invitation to get together in NYC with me sometime.

FYI: words can't do justice to the PIP! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Catman is right, "words can't do justice to the PIP!" I'm happy to have participated. And I'll add as I did in another related PiP thread, that we'll never find that recipe again.

But perhaps we can come close?

I would hope we could come close MRLIMO...

It was a special event with a very special group of people, and I to am proud to have been a part of it. Great memories. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Hoping that future events have as much going for them as the PIP did.

"...arrogant, elitist clique?" Who says? I must have missed something! But, thanks to a wonderful bunch whom we met in SF in Sept, 1999, my husband and I were talked into not missing the PIP - the once and ever PIP. We are grateful, folks - it was the best!
