WORLD LIVING CHOICES

If you could AFFORD to live anywhere in the world, where would you be now? Most people seem to think this question should be posed, provincially, only to the U.S.

My answer? Same as I posted in the other thread: San Francisco. It is home.

Wengen, Bernese Oberland, Switzerland

(but with an appartement in: New York - Manhattan, another one in San Franciso, and a third one in Aspen CO).

San Francisco would be my choice -- definitely the most beautiful American city. I don't mind my home town of Chicago either.

If money were no object:

- Manhattan, on Central Park.
- San Diego, on Balboa Park.
- Miami, on South Beach.
- Geneva, Switzerland
- Florence, Italy.
- San Francisco, in a "painted lady"
- DC, in a townhouse on Dupont Circle or Embassy row
- Sydney

Of course, I'd have a collection of all of these, as bad weather would drive me out of my mind during the winter/summer!

I "will" be living in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, in the next 12 months.............so my vote is already cast.

(2) Where I am (Eastern Pennsylvania) with a
summer home near Berchtesgaden
(3) Where I am, with apartment in Manhattan and Leipzig (like Kurt Masur)

Melbourne, Australia - not much to visit, but a great place to live - one of the best restaurant towns in the world !

Northern California. Much as I love San Francisco I live in the beautiful foothills just far enough to be safe from the earthquakes, except when I work at SJC.

My choices would be multiple, I just cant seem to picture living in one place only for the rest of my life. So, my ideal combination would be:

A town-house in Barrio Parque, Buenos Aires, Argentina;

An apartment in Manhattan (overlooking central park);

A house with a big garden in the 19th district, Vienna, Austria;

A place in the mountains, Lech, Austria.

My ideal home would be to split my time between..Ireland's Dingle Peninsula
..my hometown at the head of the Cape in Massachusetts
..North Carolina where my youngest child and I presently live http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
