priceline.com offering $50 bonus

priceline.com is currently offering $50 in free bonus money. I've booked a $15 r/t (plus $11 tax and $5.95 processing fee) to LAX (UA) and a $10 r/t to LAS (HP) from PHX.

If you are a priceline novice, I suggest you visit Sheryl's board before bidding.

Thanks for the tip. I just bid and won a roundtrip SFO-LAX departing tomorrow, returning following day, for a total of $29 charged to my credit card.

The short answer is no, though it has been said to happen, however rarely.

I have always earned miles, elite bonuses, and been upgraded on priceline tickets on Northwest and America West. I have earned miles on USAirways. On America West, I have routinely gone standby for different flights.

That being said, you cannot rely on the above statement. Assume you will earn no miles and cannot change your ticket, as those are the rules. Priceline is very clear in that regard.

Finally, as for the economics of the argument of a $25 ticket r/t between PHX-LAX, versus a $100 ticket with miles and schedule flexibility, that really depends on the individual consumer.
