Sprint PCS -- any programs?
Hi all!
I used to earn miles with my Sprint PCS (cellular) phone. Now it seems I cant find any partners that use Sprint PCS! Any one know of anything! I hate to be paying this $100+ bill and not getting anything for it! Thank you in advance, Holly S. Chabot |
I don't know the details, but I think they have something with either US or UA.
|
To my knowledge, Sprint PCS does not have any monthly mileage plan. You can get 1,000 UA miles (per phone/line) if you renew your Sprint PCS contract for one year. However, I have had a terrible time getting those miles to post to UA - I have followed up with Sprint PCS five times and still no miles! :(

I also tried to find any mile programs with Sprint and was not successful either. I am on contract until October and then I plan to find a program with some miles!!!

I can confirm that Sprint PCS does have an agreement with US Airways. I called today - and the department to speak with is the Business Desk. (I don't have a business account...but thats who I needed to speak with).
They offer a one-time 1,000 mile credit for existing customers who call...and a 10,000 mile credit for a BRAND NEW activation. According to both people I spoke with - there is no way to get the 10,000 mile credit by simply extending your contract date. For more information, you can check out this thread in the US forum: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=327945 Safe Travels, Chris |
They also have an agreement with America West. I can't remember the details but good luck trying to get the miles. I have been trying for over a year now and have called at least 5-6 times. I always get "you should see the miles post in 5-6 days" but I never do.

Sprint PCS has mileage programs with United, Alaska, US Air, and America West. Info on the Telephone page of my website below.

Current UA promotion (which is posted at the UA forum) offers 10k miles per line of service, 20K max., through july 3. Must purchase phone at sprint pcs store. if you already have a sprint account, you can add-a-line for $20, otherwise it will cost you at least $35/mo.

BIG News! (maybe) I called Sprint PCS to complain about my United miles not posting. The cust service rep said that, as a current Sprint PCS subscriber, I could get 1,000 miles for a one year contract extension, but 10,000 miles for a 2 year contract extension!!! Sounds good, although we all know that the cust service reps don't always get the promos right and you might hear a different story from someone else, but it's sure worth a call.

Thanks for the tip bosman. I just renewed my service for 2 years and got 10k America West miles. United was also available.
|
Now they're not giving me the 10k and claiming there never was such an offer for existing customers, just new customers. Did anyone actually get the renewal offer? Was there some kind of offer code?

oh here is ANOTHER ONE!
Thanks to Paradocs, I have come to this thread to talk of advocacy and also my own hardships on getting miles w/phone deals.
Sprint had and still has a UAL/10k offer and in the one we did (current similar link found right on their home page) you are supposed to get 5k after the first month and 5 more k after the 6th, plus other stuff like online and calling card bonuses, etc. Sprint owes my wife upwards of 6,300 ual miles right now. We have seen not one mile to post yet into her UAL and her new acct start up was on mar 19. After some Marathon Man style work, I got to the guy who says he is in charge but nothing yet. His name is Richard Lott at 863-401-2116. He says posting problems are rare and he will help me. But for me, as I told him, companies' continuous failure to post miles in things they owe me has been a problem in nearly everything I do! Needless to say, he got the picture and said he would personally handle my case, and would call me yesterday (monday 19th). Well, I left him a voicemail last night when I heard nothing back and I will try to be more patient than I have been in say, that Ebay/AA deal on the AA forum, but I think it's time to get our miles now. We have signed my wife up under a UAL 10k offer, done it all correctly, kept thorough records of EVERYTHING, set up online account activity (that gives you miles for doing it) and set up worry-free-credit option which also gives you miles for selecting the option. No revenue call miles have posted. No nothing has posted and each CSR said they could see the miles but they had some problem sending to my wife's united acct. First they had made an error and tried to post to Alaska Airlines (but she is united!) and then one csr said that was our fault. Each one says we have to wait 4-6-8 weeks more and then the airline takes its time to post them too. In my last call, CS said the miles were gone, which is how I eventually found Richard. (I persist til I get to such people, as some are aware) My wife wanted to grab a quick 5-6 k for her UAL and then she would switch over to MCI anyway so she could get the nwa fff04 10k bonus. Gee, maybe Sprint is smart and knows this! ;) Either way, I will not give up and it's the same old same old... I have been using my own Web site, http://www.theothersideoftraveling.com to post that AA/Ebay points problem and send out the entire long story to several agencies and companies related to that problem. the hope is that they will wake up and smell the coffee and the lin ktells in detail everything about the promo. It also highlights mistakes and what SHOULD be done to fix things like this. My reason for bringing this up is that I think it may be time for me to add a new topic of horror to the mix, and that is this phone crap. Miles not osting, waiting 6-8 weeks all the time, hard-to-get-answers, and the like. Look for this in the coming weeks, and as I have time to add in the horrors, maybe it can be used as a free tool for FT users to combat the issue, just as it had been for that other AA promo not related to phones. Well, that's my story. If you wanna give me some dirt to post on there, tell me yours in here! Geesh, it never ends! :)MM will definitely tackle this one as that has happened to both of us nearly every time we have done a phone deal! |
