Thanks for letting me know that. Just called twice today and no answer. I thought the worst had happened.

Before everyone keeps calling back,keep in mind that MIA got 18" of rain and the word is it'll take close to a week till is normal again and that the waters recide.

Does anyone know if LP is up and running again? I just tried to call without success.

Yes, Latin Pass is open. An for the 14th week straight they have "not heard yet from
Avis" about my one remaining credit for the 500k.

By the way,what can be the possible rationale for faxing in a request accompanied by picture id just to find out if a particular date is available for an award ? Is there any other airline in the world that uses such a cumbersome and annoying system ? It can take MONTHS until a date is secured in this system!

Does LP have to hear from the airline/hotel/rental agency directly, even if you submit all the required documentation?

Yes, Latin Pass "verifies" everything that did not post by sending electronic copies of the original contract and receipt (hotel or car rental). They do not necessarily do this promptly, nor do the car rental agencies answer promptly. Latin Pass has had my car rental documents for three months. Either they have delayed sending them, or Avis has delayed answering. In any event, the one car rental (in Panama City)I need to complete the 500k promotion has not yet posted, although the rental was in June.
