Doc was Dick Turpin??

Mvic Aug 24, 2000 6:18 pm

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif The Essex highwayman, I think not.

I think beetee was referring to the Lone Ranger for those outside the US (one of the benefits of having an American wife is that she can translate for you http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ).

Don't know how he does it, keeping us all up on the latest happening in the world of flying. He must have 15 computers and 10 newswires going simultaneously, but however he manages to accomplish the fine information gathering and postings that he does for FT, he does it extremely well, often with a touch of humor, frequently with much needed patience and tact. May I also offer my thanks and support for a job well done.
Many thanks DOC, (Mark).

I imagine doc in a setup like in Sliver -- dozens of TV monitors all around, monitoring all frequent flyer information as it comes in.

Or he's a robot, what the heck do I know?

<grin>

ozstamps Aug 25, 2000 11:45 am

dg1 .. get serious. If you had 20 secret TV monitors trained on Sharon Stone in all sorts of .... ummm "interesting" private situations like in Sliver, would YOU mess around with FlyerTalk!? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif

I must say...when I come to this great site, the first one I look for on good advise is of course "The Good Doctor" thanks Doc for all you have done.

burkey Aug 28, 2000 6:04 am

"...and finished in beautiful burled walnut trim..." Now there's first hand advice. At least we know the control key and the letters C and V work.

james Aug 28, 2000 4:28 pm

I suspect he'll be back.

kyklin Aug 28, 2000 6:14 pm

Just curious, is doc a medical doctor, a PhD., or something else?

belle3388 Aug 28, 2000 6:48 pm

kyklin Aug 29, 2000 4:37 pm

belle3388 Aug 29, 2000 11:07 pm

onefreeman Aug 30, 2000 10:43 am

Hey geo -- I don't think even Punki and Old Gold know -- more like they have better defined suspicions.

We all have our theories on arturo...

Only arturo knows arturo...

BTW- "Nice" one, MisterNice! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Believe it or not, I've been through Darby too! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

James - I was waiting for "ya'all" to join the ECU so as to take advantage of the US dollar exchange versus the comparatively weaker currency - but it seems that, alas, the exchange rate (for we US folks) has already improved. So I'll certainly be off to London soon, so I can finally get you that beer! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Are you planning to come into the city or do I need to go out to the "burb"s? With the price increases, I may well be avoiding "those" hotels I'd selected too! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Thanks again everyone! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

"A Mastic Beach man who was staying at a Ronkonkoma hotel to catch an early morning flight to Arizona from MacArthur Airport was found shot to death in a deserted area of the hotel parking lot Monday night, Suffolk police said.

Mark Watson, 27, of 111 Alder Dr. checked into the Holiday Inn on Veterans Highway Monday evening with his girlfriend for a one-night stay before his flight to Phoenix, said Det. Lt. John Gierasch, commander of Suffolk's Homicide Squad."

Some will be happy and some will be sad - but I'm still alive and kickin'! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Condolences to the Watson family for their loss.
