Latin Pass Mileage Bonus Credit

Sorry to go on about this topic Ad Nauseum, but I was just wondering how many people actually managed to get their million or half million mile bonus' credited to the Latin Pass account.

I have called Latin Pass several times, and each time I get fobbed off with a different excuse as to why it hasn't been done, the most recent being blamed on a computer failure that has crashed all their systems over the last 2 weeks.

Whilst I am a patient and understanding person, I am getting increasingly uneasy as to whether LP will ever follow through with their promises. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Secondly, and without wanting to count my chickens as it were, I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether they have actually SUCCESSFULLY transferred any LP bonus miles to a Hilton HHonors account? If so, how did you do it and how long did it take? If I ever do get my miles, it might be nice to put some into my Hilton account to enable me to book hotels for my planned forthcoming trips!!

Thanks once again everyone...

Samuel

I have called LP. They do have a record entered in their computer that they have received my documentation for missing postings. My brother called in also and they are "working" on his. He sent his in about 7 weeks ago. So it appears they take about 7-8 weeks for LP to get to it after the docs arrive. But at least you can check to see if they have recorded that documents were received.

Not sure how long after posting the miles are actually posted to the account.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif My question to the board: Has anyone been contacted by LP with them refusing to post a documented activity?? If so, what was the reason and did you get it fixed?? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif

From my calls to LP,it seems that they wait 6 weeks or so before they will contact any partner to comfirm that you indeed flew, slept or rented. Then that partner has 6 weeks to respond to LP's inquiry,if no response then LP will resubmitt, what if still no answer LP said they will cross that bridge if they get to it.
Keep in mind that LP says one of the worst postins comes from the Intercontinental in CCS,if one is lucky it'll take 2 months(now they tell us)I spoke to Priorty Club who said if it doesn't post by the 60th day to call back.
I was never told about the comps being down,I can understand if it happens but not for such a long time.

My hold up has been TWA just rotten not one flight 8 weeks later has posted. I think they are sincere and will post them just takes time. This business is a transfer of money so to post something they must do it right to get reimbursed from that vendor. ie American Airlines sells or generates over 500 million dollars selling miles to MCI, Citibank Avis etc. Real cash cow

Hey Milesrus,

Are you saying that the Aeropostal flight that you and Randy checked me in for (and paid the departure tax, thank you very much) has posted for you? It is one of my several missing credits. I just sent the documentation in 3 weeks ago, so I still expect everything to post in due time.

P.S. I see your friend Tiger did it again! Almost as impressive as the performance we watched from the Bogota admiral's club http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif

David no aeropostal did not post or 3 others, but remember we were told that they manually do it in Caracas. I sent stuff in a month ago. I trust it will be there by september. we did go by and meet the LatinPass people in Miami really neat experience.

dhacker, when I spoke to LP a few weeks ago they said mine got in(all the LP flights down there did waiting for TW and Intercon CCS). Only thing I left a day after you guys, but same flight are you sure they put it down remember AeroP did it manually like TacaPeru. Good luck.

dhacker Aug 23, 2000 11:20 am

craz: Aeropostal in Miami wrote our LP numbers on the tickets and said it would be keyed in later. I guess you just got lucky. I still need aeropostal, avianca, Lacsa, Copa and USAir.

My travel partner and I both had our 500,000 mile bonus post 2 months ago.

SAPMAN Aug 23, 2000 3:33 pm

I don't understand why they need all the checking. I would guess that those that 1) paid $2,000+ for the trips, 2) had most flights posted showing they actually did travel, and 3)have good original documentation and submitted it to LP, will all pass muster as to validity of their flights, hotels, etc. People are not going to risk the time and money by not fulfilling one requirement and then creating fake documents. If there is an area of concern - flying on a code share, etc., then check that out. The time and cost they are spending on these will not result in any meaningful refusals.

i.e. A flight posted from CCS to Bogata, and then one posted Lima to Cuzco BUT missing from Bogata to Lima. Do they think someone took a cab between Bogata and Lima??

Oh well, wait and see. Waiting 4-6 weeks after sending in documentation is ok -- but it appears from some of above posts that the wait could be closer to 3 months or longer-- not acceptable.

My travel companion and I both received our 500k bonuses. Miles were successfully transferred to HHonors.

RLewis Aug 23, 2000 10:34 pm

My traveling partner and I have both received our bonuses. I know the wait seems long, for things that do not post electronically. In years past, I have participated in "partner crediting," and I can tell you that Latin Pass has been better than most all of them.

This is my story of other airlines (US based
Airlines I might add.) Send in the original paperwork. Wait. Have them try and find your original. Make a fuss. Furnish a copy of the US Postal receipt signed by them. Send or fax copies. Wait. Have them try and find it again. Only deal with supervisors. Wait for "the tape" to be sent. Wait for "the tape"to come back. Repeat as many times necessary. Most of the time I cannot even confirm if the documents were received. Last year, with one airline that had lost the originals, I just started faxing them twice a week, because nobody ever knew anything. 4 months on that deal.
Got the picture?
We are not talking a 4-6 weeks here, we are talking 4-6 weeks every go around. By the time the credit is actually received took 3-4 months (REALLY!!!!!). I know that having to wait is frustrating, but Latin Pass has been MUCH BETTER than the above.

I know that Latin Pass has a small staff, and is very strained with this promotion. Have you ever thought that perhaps the small staff is to everyones advantage?
At least with the small staff you can actually confirm receipt of your documents. I could never do that with other US carriers.
If you think that it is frustrating to wait for the credits, think of dealing with the other airlines that cannot even confirm receipt of your documents.
One thing that I have urged others to do in the past, and I will again, is to do your part of the legwork, and check with the partners directly. I have found Avis, Intercontinental,Radisson, Holiday Inn and TWA to be directly at fault for not sending my credits over (as per conversations with them, the partner acknowledged the Latin Pass info in the system, and acknowledged they never sent it!). As a result of my phone calls with the partner (I think, who really knows) I did receive more electronic, yet late, crediting.

If I did not have previous "partner crediting" experience, I would have probably been very frustrated. Compared to other companies, Latin Pass has been quick and timely.
One thing to note: I have been glued to these boards since May (I didn't know they exhisted before) and have never read a post that LP lost any documentation. I have never read any posts saying that LP was unable to confirm receipt of paper work. This one attribute is far superior to my previous experience. I have always felt that with confirmed receipt of my documents, credit would eventually be given. It is a lot more than I can say for my previous experience with other airlines.

I wish the best for all who are waiting for their credits. I honestly believe that LP will make good on the promotion, although it might not come as soon as we would like.

FD,
How long did it take for Hilton to post your points?
LP says that they sent the request in on July 7 for me but Hilton has not posted yet.
