Apirchik:
You could do alot better on TWA:
JFK-PHL(94 actual miles) earns you their minimum of 750 miles.
Flying this route 267 times, means you've flown 25098 actual miles.
You'd earn 200,250 miles(not counting any elite bonuea).
For 50,000 miles you can fly LAX-KWI(8827 miles each way). doing this 4 times nets you
70,616 miles flown.

Boomer, my post was accurate as originally stated, that the suggested domestic roundtrip "....requires 25,000 One Pass miles." My posting date was earlier today, therefore I used today's award level of 25,000 One Pass miles (valid through 8/31) as the baseline.
Based on your comments and for clarification, I revised/edited my post and included the 9 month period of 9/01-5/31 which requires only 20,000 miles. An excellent value, I feel!
Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I would have thought the answer was one of the following two.
20,000 AA miles gets you Melbourne to Fiji to Western Samoa return.
Aletrnatively (and I think this is probably a winner) you can fly Cairns to Guam to Singapore return for 20,000 Continental miles - now that would be quite a distance return.
Anyone know how far?
cheers peter

According to the mileage calculator on the WebFlyer site, Cairns to Guam to Singapore and return is a total of only 10,020 miles.

Boomer,
Re: TWA LAX-KWI:
The lowest award listed on TWAs partner chart online for MidEast travel is 50,000 for a companion ticket on Royal Jordanian. Is there a 50,000 award with one of their newer partners that isnt posted on the table (which is seriously out of date and still shows awards to the Russian Far East on Alaska), or is it the companion reward that you're referring to?
Just wondering...
Yonatan
P.S. I seem to recall TWA noting in their latest newsletter that awards on RJ can no longer be redeemed.

Boomer,
I assume that award would be on the code-share? For some reason I thought you couldn't redeem awards for travel on TWA for use on their partner - only awards from the (generally higher-priced) partner chart.
Id love to know I was wrong - then I could maybe snag a transatlantic to AMS on the RJ code-share for 40-60k instead of 70k.

I know this is stretching the original criteria, but this ref will apply the spirit of the rule, which outweighs the letter of the rule.
There is, without a doubt, no comparison to DL's award to Hawaii for 30,000 miles. So what if it's only an economy award?
