Website for tracking mileage progams
 

Can anyone recommend good websites for tracking all my mileage programs? I currently use My Excite which partners with www.maxmiles.com but it was a 6-month trial and now has expired.

Ideally i'm looking for a free service that updates each program on a consistent and regular basis.

I saw that ClickMiles has such a service, is it any good?

As always, I appreciate all your help and infinite wisdom. (Yes, I do kiss butt for a living.)

I use a service from American Express which can be found at www.rewardsmanager.com. It is free as of now and I don't know that they have any plans to charge for the service.

I have not compared it with other similar services and would love to hear you views on the stregnths & weaknesses compared with others available.

The AMEX site is a co-branded (and free, as ifly mentioned) version of MaxMiles ... I'm not sure you'll be able to sign up for it though since you've already had an account wtih MaxMiles, I've had trouble trying to do that because it knows you previously had an account with MaxMiles or some BS like that ...

MaxMiles still has problems posting flights & stays consistently. I dropped them after the free trial expired.

www.myciti.com launched this week. It aggregates FF as well as financial info.

I can't comment on the site yet, but plan to sign-up and provide all my info this week. I'm going with this one because it is run by Citigroup. I'd rather trust my info with a corporation that won't go out of business in a few months vs. an upstart .... MHO.

I use Clickrewards's Rewardcentral, which is partnership with Maxmiles. It's free. ( through Clickreward's site) Not only it traces airlines , hotels miles, but also mypoints, greenpoints, clickrewards. I highly recommend it.

You're right, CitiFi does sound like a good option compared to the startups. However, you're missing a few points:

1) Citifi is "powered by" Yodlee, which is a startup. Citifi did not develop the service on its own. It is a co-branded site, just like Amex Rewards and Excite are co branded from MaxMiles.

2) If you simply want to see your balances, use Citifi. But that's just the numbers, in other words plain data. MilesDirect converts that data into rich information. It analyses your miles in realtime, tells you your elite status, next elite status, number of stays or miles Year to date, lists all the airline alliances you belong to (oneworld, skyteam, star etc), shows you new offers and bonuses based on which programs you belong to (including flight and non-flight offers), and best of all, it includes the AwardFinder tool, which displays a searchable list of all the the awards you can claim right now, based on how many miles you currently have - which is a great way to plan your award travel from one centralized location (instead of figuring out award charts on many different airline or hotel websites).
MilesDirect is also developing a technology called MileageReconciler, which lets you easily enter your mileage earning activity on the website, and then reconcile that with the activity fetched automatically from the airlines. If you're a serious frequent flyer, need tons of automation and number crunching, and some truly innovative features use MilesDirect. If you just want to see a list of numbers, use Maxmiles. If you want to see a list of numbers along with your banking or investment accounts, use Citifi. MilesDirect does one thing and does it well. Thanks.

I have been using the one offered by clickrewards and like it. It provides information about exp. dates, next status level, recent flights and hotel stays, and tracks also greenpoints, clickmiles, as well as the hotel programs. Have not tried the others so cannot compare.
