America West Awards
 

Hello All
Recently, I received some mail from America West stating that miles were expiring. They have several awards to spend those miles.
A chrome watch thats most likely worth about $5
folding travel alarm clock
silver plated pen with leather case
and
3 in one emergency light
plus several magazine subscriptions.

Since I dont intend to fly America West if I can help it (their planes are always breaking down causing great delays, and causing me to wonder about the quality of maintenance) I think I might spend as many miles as I can on this cheap stuff.

I got the same offer last week. I thought my miles didn't expire? I will have to go back and read the fine print of my FF account.

Out of 4 roundtrips on America West, one segment had a plane delayed 2 or 3 hours for a maintenance problem. The problem was minor and was due to a false reading that indicated something was not working right. Perhaps American West is taking more precautions than other airlines? I have read that their maintenance has slipped in recent years; the article said that poor maintenance is a bad sign and a signal for an airline in decline.

Interesting comments. America West must really be going down hill. I haven't flown them for several years. When I did, though, I thought they were great.
