Latin Pass fare class
C, Y, sometimes K and H. rarely V and B.
Anyone have the REAL scoop on which class qualifies? Already have the tickets, the travel agent says they qualify, 90% of the time the airlines say they qualify. Leaving tomorrow. Thanks |
You have asked a question that has been asked many times and the simple answer seems to be C - business class and Y - unrestricted coach qualify for miles. Other fares may qualify but........All the airlines seem to have different restrictions and these restrictions can even change for individual destination on the same airline. I have been told that international tickets booked in V class on Groupo Taca qualify for miles but domestic tickets on Taca Peru a part of Groupo Taca do not qualify for miles. A travel agent told me that tickets booked in W class qualified for mileage but Distancia the frequent flyer program disputed what the travel agent told me. There is an old 17 page Latin Pass posting in this forum that might be of more help. This link discusses fare codes for another promotion of Groupo Taca and might be of some help http://www.grupotaca.com/infodata/ge...OTICIAS&lang=1 Good luck.

Another good reason to go unrestricted full fare C (or J) and Y:
If you encounter any delays, missed/cancelled flights rebooking tickets issued in those fare bases is very easy. While the carrier who created a delay for you might rebook you easily, your following flights on other LP airlines might be a different story. Imagine you first flight (out of 10+) gets cancelled and now you have to rebook 9+ flights on a restricted coach ticket. Could become pretty tricky. |
