How long should it take Greenpoints to post into my Delta account?

I have never sent in Delta certificates before this so I'm not sure how long to wait.

Its been about 3 weeks now.

What did Delta say when you called them to ask? As It states on the coupon alow 6-8 weeks for posting.

I sent one coupon in over eight weeks ago and still no post.....sent another in two weeks ago so maybe they will be posted by July 4th.
I don't undersand how Delta can be so quick when applying miles after a flight and so so long for a simple coupon. Does it take them this long to pay on their accounts or employees........... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif......just seems like poor business in taking so long to update a customer account........maybe they will get better!!!

Perhaps the slow posting of partner bonuses (particularly certificates) can be explained by analogy to the concept of "float." i.e. the airlines derive the $$ when they sell the miles to partners for distribution but do not become obligated to provide free transportation until miles are recorded in an acount for redemption; hence they are not in any hurry to process the certificates. Just compare this situation with credit card issuers who can have the card in your mailbox a week or so after you apply.

Mine just posted this week. It took about 8 weeks. If they eventually dont post and you saved the little stub, it does have a certificate number that Delta would be able to trace.

My guess as to why it takes longer to post those "certificate" type of miles as opposed to "flight" miles is that it is a manual process whereas the flight miles are computerized. In other words, someone has to "data enter" your certificate when it is received at the center. That defintely would add time. The flight miles probably just automatically post from whatever system they use for res (not sure if Delta is on SABRE?) to the SkiMiles system. Mailed out the Greenpoints DL Voucher 3/17 and got a posting on 4/10. Twenty-four days should be considered great response compared to some postings with the Healthy Choice vouchers of 5 to 9 weeks. It might just depend on the workload, backlogs and which vendor(s) do the processing if not done by DL. After 10 weeks I would copy the Voucher receipt(s) and send it to DL.

I sent in three vouchers, sort of to test response time: One on 3/27, one on 3/28, and one on 3/29. The first one posted on 4/13, the next two on 4/18. Incidentally, I sent one to my daughter's account, hoping to restart her 3-year mileage expiration clock. It didn't work. Her clock still says 12/31/2001. Any thoughts on that? Does she need an actual flight?

According to Delta's new policy, any partner activity, not just a flight, should extend the expiration date. The online date is not always accurate. My suggestion is to email them, this way you have their response in writing. A call will do also. This should confirm that any partner activity will extend the expiration date.
