360 EASY MyPoints
Today when I went to check out the site I found two new links there.
1) under visit websites: Click on icollector - 10 points for visiting and 100 points for joining (giving them your e-mail address. Blue screen and all so the points are more likely going to post. 2) under try it out: Click on HDVest financial services, register and then you get 250 points -- with a blue screen. Just figured that I would post with a heads up in case not everyone has checked or noticed these yet. P.S. -- I know that some of MyPoints point opportunities are targeted so these might not be there for everybody -- I thought it might be worth a try. |
Thanks for the heads up. I personally check
the "visit website" everyday but not the "try it out". Would've missed that one. |
Thanks SMK219 for the headsup on the one in "Try It Out"
|
Wahoo!
I love these kinds of tips -- THANKS SMK! |
How do you sign up to HDVest if you are located in another country?
cheers Peter |
Am I reading this wrong......or is there a 9.00 monthly charge?
|
HDVest also offers an addition 500 points if you complete your tax return on line. There is no fee and you don't have to submit it, just have their software calculate it. Of course I didn't use my real SSnumber!
|
Thanks, smk219.

If you don't see the link for icollector from mypoints, you can go here:
https://register.icollector.com/mp_promo_quick.html |
If you decide to fill in the HDVest tax stuff to get the extra 500 points, be prepared to spend a lot of time (even if you are putting in minimal dummy data). It makes you go through most of the 1040 form and the pages take forever to load... I should of done this at work with a high speed connection, but once I got started, I was on a roll.
Of course, there was no confirmation at the end that I would receive the 500 points.. I wonder if this was all just a waste of time. Has anybody else done this and get a confirmation of the 500 points? |
It worked for me and I got the 500 point blue screen on saturday. It was pretty slow.
|
I filled out the form on Friday afternoon and 500 mysterious points posted today. I assume it was for filling out the form. I'm still waiting to get the intial 250 points for registering. Will they ever really get their act together?????

I got my 250 points the day after I registered. Maybe you should check with MyPoints for that.
|
I went through the tax form for the 500 points, and it was very quick. You don't really have to do much except click on "save and continue" about 20 times. No dummy data is needed. At the end, just after you say "No" to e-filing, you see the link for the 500 points.
|
I went to MyPoints to link to icollector at https://register.icollector.com/mp_promo_full.html
and got a form to join but I had to provide my CC number, I don't like these kind of promos. However the link provided by UserMark https://register.icollector.com/mp_promo_quick.html does not require much info (name and e-mail) but only gives 100 pts rather than 180. I chose the quick one. |
I used the network in my office so I was able to go through the tax form very quickly. Just hit "save and continue" until you see the 500 points link. Then you'll see the blue screen confirming you of 500 points. Good luck.

In the world of mypoints, the 100-point and the 180-point are different awards. So you can actually get both. Thanks for the other link Mile Dog.

Thanks for your tip, UserMark.

I went back to HDVest to get the 500 MyPoints for filling out the tax returns. It turns out that you don't even have to push "save and continue" all twenty times. Just skip to the end and then click on the 500 point link at the bottom of the screen. Truly the easiest 500 points I have ever gotten.
Also, if you are looking for a new ISP, I recommend tryin Surfree for at least two months. The first month is free, the second month is $16.95 and you can lower the cost by using their ad banner. Also after 60 days of service they give you 2000 MyPoints -- that would put someone well on their way to the 20,000 MyPoint for 25,000 AA miles offer. Just food for thought. I also use Surfree & am very happy with it.
|
the only prob with Surfree is you have to pay for it. I just cashed in for the 25,000 miles after 3 1/2 months the only $$ spent were for CD's where it cost less than 1/2 price from the stores bought 1 once and not again from each place. even MORE.com bought some HBA stuff for the same price I would have paid anyway ($15.18 needed to be $15) yes I ordered alot of stuff but sent it back or cancelled memberships before the trail period ended( you get to keep the pts) the only prob can do the AA deal only once a yr so I'm now building up for a cash out on 1/2/01 if mypt is still around.

Update:
a) I could not see any way to get 250 + 500 mypoints through HDVest, even though the site still appears in Try It Out section of MyPoints. Not a blue screen, not a link to click on after sign up or tax filing. I wrote to MyPoints customer service... b) Registering for icollector with credit card number (the full URL - they say it won't be charged unless you bid...) is now worth 300 MyPoints, not 180, and there is a blue screen. ------------------ Get shopping rebates with http://www.dash.com/default.asp?arID...MID=1887280961 |
