The 500,000 deal seems like a good option. The requirements to get 500,000 miles are only slightly more than 1/2 of those required to get the full monty. But it seems like the 500,000 option could be done for less than half the cost. Plus, picking only 6 Latinpass flights would allow much more flexible travel plans.

Has anyone put together a list of the available international city pairs for all of the 10 airlines? Lots of good information has already been posted. Now that we know the rules, it would be nice to have a comprehensive list. If it's not already done, perhaps we could divvy up the work?

I'll do it !! That is if I can do it within a reasonable time frame, the miles can transfer somehow to a stable carrier, etc. Seems like lots of the details need to be figured out as well as the flight plans.

Yes, maybe the 500,000 miles plan is less hectic and easier to manage.

Anyone out there want to form a group trip?

Count me in for a group trip!

Me too!

Has anyone tried calling the Latin Pass Information Center? I've tried calling 800 445 2846 for five days and all I get is a busy signal. If this is an indication of how they run their business I'm concerned when we complete our travel we'll never be able to redeem our miles.

Please let me know if there's another number to reach their office.

The web site isn't done yet, but there's still a lot of useful stuff there. Be sure to e-mail me if you have anything to add.

Flying Dutchman you're the best. Look forward to meeting you during the trip.

Update: I've added a route map for Taca-Peru to my web site.

Flying Dutchman, great job!!! I was hoping we could centralize all this info. I've got the flights and recent prices for all the available ACES flights; I'll send it off to you.

The WEB site is Great !! I will try to find out some info as well. The "things to watch for" listing (which I am sure will grow and be edited as more info comes out) is a good idea.

Thanks a "million".

I could use a chance to brush up on my Spanish http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif - I'd be up for a group trip too, during April/May/June, for either the million or the 500K award.

With regard to any hesitancy about doing this because of the long-term viability of the Latin Pass program itself, I think that the three US and European airlines involved (US, TW and KLM) would have an awfully hard time refusing to allow you to use the Latin Pass miles on THEIR airlines even if the Latin Pass program goes bust, since they were partners in the program. Just a thought to keep in mind.

Randy Petersen, if you are listening what are your thoughts on all of this. THANK YOU.

BlondeBomber Jan 16, 2000 10:18 am

Hey, it's ONLY two grand to earn one million miles! So what if Latin Pass goes bust? Hopefully the memory of the mileage run would have made it all worth it. Besides, it's doubtful you would lose it all.

. . . Now which airline just crashed coming from El Salvador to San Jose, Costa Rica (hopefully not a Latin Pass member, they have precious few flights as it is)?
