priceline.com - what price to shoot for?
 

hi everybody! just wondering if any of you guys have some experience with priceline.com. i have never used it and wanted to know what is typically the lowest i can bid to have an offer for a ticket accepted?

i've heard that the best you can usually do is usually to bid in the pricerange of an advance purchase ticket, even though you don't have the advance notice. for example, if a ticket from lax-jfk costs $300 with 7 days notice, and you only have 4 days til you need to leave, you can normally successfully bid around $300 for your ticket.

however, if someone DID have the adequate advance notice, how much lower than the actual published rate can one successfully bid for a ticket? if the lowest rate, using the lax-jfk example again, is $300, what bid on my part can i expect will be considered?
