My Points Gets Tested
 

I have cashed in 6500 my Points for two of those travel certificates for miles on AA. The miles will boost my account enough so I can have enough to upgrade on my MIA-CUN-MIA flights in June.

The transaction took effect on 2-24. They said it takes 4-6 weeks to get my certificate.

Should I start to worry I'll never get it?

Depends on whether MyPoints has the certificates in stock. I've cashed in for a bunch of Alaska coupons and they've always arrived, sometimes 2 weeks later, sometimes 6 weeks later !

Of course, then you have to see how quick AA is. Alaska usually processes them within a week of receiving them.

I've requested certificates from MyPoints four different times and they've generally come within 2-4 weeks. I've then faxed the certificate numbers to AA and it's taken about 30 days for them to post to my account.

Well about two weeks after making my request, int eh mail come the My Points certificates for my 6500 mi with American Air.

Just as I chased in 50K HHonors points for 12K AA miles.

OH Well, I guess I can roll them BACK into HIlton if I wish. Or save them for the next Friend who needs a tix in a hurry.

HURRAY! I can get upgraded to CANCUN!

Quick question about the My Points certificates. Are they blank (ie. can I put
them into my mothers AA account) or do they
have you name and AA number on them?

My certificates have had my name on them.

Even though your name is on the cert, they can be deposited into others accounts.
