Daily Getaways 2022
This snuck up fast this year, but no car rentals! But the staple hotels are there

Wyndham points $175 for 150K seems pricy to me.
|
These seem like okay deals, not great deals.

I wonder why Hyatt even participates.

Wyndham had good deal before. 2012 $68.40 for 28K ($2.44/1K) 2013 $216- for 40K ($5.40/1K) 2014 $216- for 40K ($5.40/1K) Since 2015, I never purchased Wyndham point from Daily Getaway. Wyndham used to have 5,500 point/night some properties. It was good time. |

Hyatt’s commitment to this seems to be dropping. And already has long been the case, Hyatt packages have been so few that they were very difficult to grab for most prospective buyers. This year looks no better, with such a small allotment of packages. |

There is one set of deals that I will again maximize like crazy. I am sort of surprised if it wouldn’t also be useful to you at times.

At c. $55 per room night for a room, I can’t skip being in the buy buy buy game for it. Given they also often move me into their largest suites on one night award stays — something particular to my status in another program — it’s a great return for that area we both connect in on the way to the airport, Also, if you are looking to put up others while visiting that country but traveling around beyond the golf club storage place, you could do so potentially via this deal. There are many hotels across that country where the points are a good deal. |

Help Request,
Is this offers strict for both american & canadian only ? Is there anyway to buy this package for other nationals ? Thanks ... |

The problem is when a foreign bank card doesn’t get accepted for payment because the card billing info is asked for and that can result in a no-match rejection of the card for payment. If you look up the 2017-2019 Daily Getaway threads on this forum, you will probably find more details there about how it was done. IIRC, even some UK. Amex card users got it to work somehow despite their billing zip codes having letters in them. I don’t recall the exact mechanics of how that worked. I do know that we did the following for foreign family, friends, colleagues whose loyalty program accounts were/are registered with addresses in Asia, Europe and Latin America: we bought the packages by having unique US bank cards to use for the package purchases and then having the foreign acquaintances transfer money to settle the purchase amounts with us. If you have US bank card holding acquaintances who aren’t using their bank cards for these purchases, maybe you can tie up with such a US card holding relative/friend/colleague and get them to buy the package for you (or perhaps provide you the bank card info to use if the relationship they have with you is such that they trust you with all the bank card info, including the 3/4 digit security code). |

Hyatt should either drop out entirely or offer 100x the packages at 1.5 to 1.6 cents per point. That would be fairer to both Hyatt and its customers. |

It was stupid then and it's stupid now. Hyatt is spending money to create negative goodwill.

The Choice points are on sale now and seem even easier to grab all of the packages this year than even prior years. [They weren’t that hard to get in prior years either, but the most discounted package type would get grabbed faster while the somewhat poorer value packages would linger around longer.]
Inflation-hit consumers may not have as much appetite to spend money on the discretionary as in 2019 and earlier, and it may be showing with DG Choice sales too — perhaps by not selling out as fast as much or even at all in the days ahead.

High USD makes this deal not so sweet.

I got in for 2 $250 gift cards today, whew!!

Ok, this is really weird. I received a purchase confirmation from Daily Getaways for IHG points. I recall looking at a few packages but don't remember
buying anything. The purchase confirmation number is exactly the same as a purchase made in Oct 21 but the Purchase price is %%PURCHASE_PRICE%% Was this a glitch that Daily Getaways re-generated purchase confirmations from last year ? Did this happen to anyone else? |
Same here, I just received a confirmation e-mail for my completed purchase of 2x 42,000 Choice points for an amount of "%%PURCHASE_PRICE%%", including the last 5 digits of my credit card. I haven't bought any points though.
The confirmation number matches my last purchase from 2019, and my credit card doesn't show any attempted charges (yet). |

Did this happen to anyone else? hahaha YES !!! I came on FT to see if anyone else got a random email from Daily Getaways. I got one for 7500 Hertz points. Never bought, never been on the website this year. Seems to be a glitch … I bought Hertz points from Daily Getaways like 4 years ago. |
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for the inconvenience but our purchase confirmation system had a technical issue and past customers were sent outdated emails. Please disregard the email you received from DailyGetaways.com as no transactions have occurred. We apologize for the inconvenience & thank you for your understanding, Daily Getaways Customer Service Team |

The confirmation number matches my last purchase from 2019, and my credit card doesn't show any attempted charges (yet). However, when I tried to buy the same package again it said I couldn't as I already had purchased 4. My Chase card showed charges of $1 and then $880. And then three days later (today) I get a congratulations email for buying for my wife's account with the %%PURCHASE_PRICE%% line. I guess this one is a resend from a previous year. I have been able to buy a few packages for myself and the family, though I missed out on the 55,000 ones. Hopefully, they all show up and I don't have to chase them down. Now if only I could get the Choice>United bonus to actually work... |
Anyone who bought Choice points last Tuesday get them yet? First year I've bought them and six days later no sign of them. Is that normal? I've bought IHG and they've never taken more than 2-3 days to appear in my account

Choice still waiting as well as HH. IHG/Wyndham credited. I have a 476$ one nite stay in GRB for Monday nite stay Packers game that goes for 15K points; also did a doubletree last March in Vail for 80K points which with 100% bonus cost me $400; the best rate I could come up with was 975 not inc taxes so yeah they can be useful. Does daily getaways use the points.com portal for this?
|
It was a hot night this summer to use points at GRB on the night when Manchester City was playing Bayern Munich at Lambeau (rain break included), so I can see why you would want those points to come in fast so the bank doesn’t get raided by the regular paid rates.
If Daily Getaways uses the points.com portal, it’s removed enough on the back-end that I’ve not noticed that. It’s seemed to me to be be a somewhat more manual and more direct bilateral process when mistakes have been made (and often corrected) in prior years. |
Took a full 9 calendar days but just got my Choice points and happily my room is still available.
