The salad days of US miles for .4 CPM (yes the decimal point is in the right place) are gone, but I still like the $50 Alamo GCs for $25 (assuming they haven't b0rked that up now).

As gift cards, I presume they don't expire? I don't use Alamo a ton, but that could be useful. Although, if you pay with a gift card, that probably eliminates the credit card insurance coverage too, huh?

No. It's a gift certificate that ends up being a $50 voucher applied to the base rate. You still make a credit card payment.

I've bought Avis Reward Day certs for years, but had a lot of trouble using them in the past year due to widespread blackout dates.

Don't you mean Marriwood as there is nothing SPG left in MR aka Bonvoy.

I am going to use 4 of the 5 I purchased next week. The stupid thing about the blackout dates is that even if your rental period falls on 1 of the blackout dates, you cannot use the certificates at all. I had to make two separate reservations (good thing 3 days were weekend dates) to use my 4 certificates.

I definitely appreciate Hertz point purchase better.

Only things I see that look like they *might* be worthwhile at this point:

- $650 for $1000 in hotel credit on Orbitz. Potentially useful for non-chain/boutique bookings.
- Two Loews nights for $275. Valid in a few cities where finding $140 rooms might otherwise be tough. (Chicago, etc.)
- The Alamo $25 GC.

Everything else so far is a joke. Tons of overpriced stuff in Vegas.

Lots of days with little/no deals, so I assume the good stuff is still to come.

If there is good stuff. This promo has been in steady decline for years now. I'm not expecting to find anything I'm interested in here.
