Additional info on Volumebuy

I have seen a few people who are questioning Volumebuy and the people who are singing its praises.

I am not a veteran poster, but if you look at my previous posts you can tell I am not an employee of any of these companies.

Having said that, I just had one of the most pleasant customer service experiences I have ever had with Jeff from Volumebuy. I called because I needed to combine a few friends orders and have them all sent to me so I could buy all of our tickets as one. Jeff worked with me and made sure everything was correct as well as spending some time explaining some things about the certificates.

The main reason he said American is willing to sell them at this price is to stir more interest in their airline. American, not to mention many of the other airlines, have seen plenty of bad press in the last few months. I never thought of it from this perspective, but it makes sense.

Jeff is one of the workers that has been with the company from day 1, so if any of you have any doubts, give him a call and he will clear things up.

I appreciate everyone that bought the last round of $50 vouchers that helped me buy a $535 DFW-Key West ticket for $400.

I have gone to this site at least 20 times.I have yet to see a 25 % discount offering.Could it be someone is touting this site for a to boost the value of the company ?

I don't think so, JMHO. It was a flex pool where the 25% discount only applied after a certain volume of purchases. I "jumped in" at $43.75 and ultimately got my certificates at $37.50 each because enough people bought them to reach the lowest level (25% discount). You may not have understood how the flex pools work, or you might have visited after the pool closed. They closed the last one early, I suppose because their supply was gone. That was the second time they've been offered, and I for one am hoping they'll be back - on my next credit card billing cycle http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

It seems like those $50 come and go very quickly. When I called to have mine shipped, they were having trouble getting enough certificates in time to send them out.

They told me they had over 600 orders on this pool alone, most of which being the 3 to 5 certificate variety.

All I know is that I ordered 50 vouchers this round and they arrived this morning via second day air.

Volumebuy shorten the time of $50 AA certificates offer from seven days to five! The price is back to 37.50.

The pool closes today at 3 (I think PST but I'm not sure). I also discovered that when it reaches the last level (at least last night) they sell only 4 max a time. I decided to buy 8 more (I bought 10) and had to put it in twice.
