"Flier" or "Flyer" which do you prefer?

I have come to prefer the spelling "flyer." However, I believe that "flier" is seen to be the more preferred spelling, e.g., WSJ article.

Which do you prefer? Why? Does it matter? Will FlyerTalk set the standard, if any?

Just curious.

Much of the mainstream press relies on The Associated Press Stylebook for such matters. And the AP says, "Flier is the preferred term for an aviator or a handbill."

Personally, I think it would be nice if one could be reserved for a person and one for a piece of paper, but that's English for you.
