I have to admit, as much as I have taken my rental business elsewhere in recent years, the deals on Hertz points are one of the better offers in the USTA list. When you run into a market with sky-high rental rates across the board, or you need to book a 1-way where no promo codes can save you, those points are worth a ton.

I agree. 20 cents per point on Hertz website is too much, but the 5 cents per that US Travel had is just right. I use Dollar and now Sixt most often as Hertz pricing leaves a lot to be desired, aka too high. For example, I have a MB C class reserved thru Sixt at LAX for only $210 per week all in. Hertz's price, 2.5x that.
