Got them. I will say this - the automated program of awarding points may be hit and miss but if you chase customer service you do get them eventually.

Right. And now I'm starting to understand why Marriott is willing to give us so many points via Twitter or Instagram each year. At this pace, very soon they will only be worth a night at a category 1 hotel.

speaking of which: I am unable to filter for category 1 hotels on Marriott's website for some reason...
