I eventually got the last 500 points yesterday without having to follow up.

Got them. I will say this - the automated program of awarding points may be hit and miss but if you chase customer service you do get them eventually.

Right. And now I'm starting to understand why Marriott is willing to give us so many points via Twitter or Instagram each year. At this pace, very soon they will only be worth a night at a category 1 hotel.
