I have just set up my Marriott account, with a sign-up bonus of 1,000 BA Avios, which I have not received yet.
This has set my earnings preference to "miles", meaning I can't pick up the points from tweeting.
Do I have to wait until the 1,000 bonus sign-up miles hit my BA account before resetting my earnings preference to "points"?

Got an e-mail today offering 100 points for the traveller type quiz:
Family Traveler #MRpoints #FindYourRoute
But I've tried twice and the points aren't posting. Possibly because I'm sure I did this a few weeks ago when mentioned on here

This may work - it may not.
There've been some changes to Marriott's social media campaign and they're renaming it #RewardPoints instead of #MRPoints . Go to this link and you should see some buttons to connect with your various social media accounts.

Click the buttons and see if you get any points. I'm going to try disconnecting and reconnecting them too.
