No more spaces after URL's

I don't know if this is a new feature in FlyerTalk or an IE 5 feature, but when I type in a link at the end of the sentence, my browser knows where to go; for example: www.onepass.com.

OTOH, if I type a URL in mid sentence followed by a comma: www.onepass.com, the browser can't find the link.

Has FT always worked this way, and is the "period after URL" a new feature or just something in IE 5 I never noticed before?

Generally, most browsers (ever since the 3.0 versions of both NSCP and MS) will assume that a period (.) or a forward slash (/) on a URL will take you to the index or default page of a particular web server. URLs don't like commas, though.

UBB's auto-URL feature assumes you are typing a URL whenever you type an obvious Web link beginning with www (it won't work with links that do not start with www in the address (you will need to use UBB coding for it). The auto-URL feature has been a part of UBB since about version 4 or 5.

Hope this helps.

Yes, but I think until recently, a period at the end of a FT link would, in effect, ruin the link. We'd seen quite a few corrections in the recent past, no?
