Which is exactly what I did. My wife's account had over 200K miles expiring in March, so now I've pushed that off another 18 months.

Thanks, guys!

I wouldn't depend on this freebie activity if 200,000 miles are at risk. You may want to do some other dependable activity as well.

Why not? He'll see the expiration date in his account change once he gets the 100 miles. If not, he can call and inquire.

Just saying, if I had 200k miles expiring as soon as 6 weeks from now, I would do an additional activity that posts sooner just to avoid any headaches.

There are activities with AA that typically post within about two weeks (AA Dining), and others that post within a day or two (donating some small amount of miles, or buying the minimum amount of miles). No need to worry about that yet 6 weeks out if it can be determined within a few weeks from now whether the freebie method worked or not.

All the "reliable" methods I know of require either giving up a handful of miles or spending some money. So if you'd rather do neither of those things, why do it ahead of time when there's plenty of time relative to 6 weeks, and the freebie might post before it gets much closer?

I do agree that someone should have a plan of another activity to do if the freebie doesn't in time. But I don't think action on that plan necessarily needs to be taken yet.

I signed up for a PointsHound account to get the 100 free Aadvantage pts (to defer expiration), and all I got was a "Aadvantage miles account successfully added" message. The email I received did not mention anything about 100 free miles. So, did this offer expire already?

Still waiting for my 100 points to post.

Thanks for the tip. I probably would not do this for just 100 points, but the extra 2000 make it worthwhile.

Clearly you have not yet been taught the ways of FT. What you are saying here is blasphemy. Even 1 mile would be worth it. 100 is just beautiful. ;)

Perhaps more significant is that your first (but only first) hotel booking through pointshound gets you an extra 2000 miles (on top your normal pointshound earnings) during this promotion period.

Thanks for sharing. Booked a night stay w/ pointshound.com

VS too - https://www.pointshound.com/flyingclub

The 100 free VS miles posted within a couple of days for me, still waiting on AA though.

Nice find. Thanks!

Thank you!

I realize this is my first post here, but seriously--why would anyone CRITICIZE this post? In the time and effort it took to write your complaints, you could've already gotten the bonus.
