How soon after the 2,000 bonus on AA-RN showed paid did you have the 2,000 bonus points post to your advantage account? Mine shows a date of 6/10/14 as paid but still haven't seen them post to AA account. Called RN help line and they said 4-6 weeks, typical unhelpful response.

In my case it was within a few days, a week max. Call RN again, hopefully you'll get a more helpful/knowledgeable rep.

There's no hidden charges per se, but there is a requirement to spend $30 (cumulative) at participating restaurants in the first 30 days. Well, if the participating restaurants in your area all charge more than the restaurants you're used to eating at for the same kind of food, that's like a hidden charge, although technically it isn't.

While some areas have a variety of restaurants levels (from cheap fast food on up), there are other areas where there are only a few pricey restaurants participating. If you're in one of the latter areas, and you don't usually eat at pricey restaurants, then what?

Furthermore, there are some areas with no participating restaurants nearby. In that case, you would have to factor in travel costs to get to (one or more) participating restaurants in the required time.

So I suggest you review the participating restuarants in your area and make sure they're within your normal dining-out budget and also that they're close enough.

And welcome to FlyerTalk, camarograna2.
