Marco Island: Hilton or Marriott??

Hi folks!

Looking for advice. Which of the resort properties do you prefer? Especially looking for activities to keep a teenager entertained (ie., golf, video gameroom, basketball courts, etc).

Thanks in advance!

Both are okay, but barring a great price at Marriott, I'd actually go for Hilton here. It's a bit nicer and also not as impersonal because it's smaller. The effect of the teenager thing though?- I just don't know anything about that! Probably never will!

ttm,

I think either one would be great. Keep in mind, Marco Island is where a lot of people go to take the "final exam." You'll find all kinds of sailboat rentals, jetski's, golf courses nearby, a nice pool at the Marriott, and other amenities. The island is/was mostly residential and the nearest town/city is Naples, about 14 miles away.

Hope y'all enjoy the sun, the sea and the sand. Look for shark's teeth and sand dollars.

I stayed at the Marco Island Marriott in Nov 98 and was very disappointed. I thought the property was really beginning to show its age. I have stayed at the Hilton also and thought it was a little better, but it is a much smaller resort. As for your teenager, sorry to say I think they will be a little bored. The Marco Island/Naples population has an average age of 70 years old and they roll up the sidewalks at 9 p.m. It will be a very relaxing vacation however.
