Newbie Q: Is Aadvantage mall always this generous?

Hi,

New to this hobby, and curious about Aadvantage mall. I had assumed my Chase cards would be my strongest spend generators but find so far I am earning far more via the Aadvantage shopping site. Between a wedding gift for FTD, eBags 35x (my roller board broke) and North Face 20x I've generated 40,000 miles in a couple of months. All have posted. Just took advantage of the Neiman 18X for a coat but may return if I don't like it.

Is this normal? Some weird blip? I haven't seen or gotten nearly as much from United or Chase, which is touted as the king of shopping portals.

someone else posted that the last time AA portal was this generous was the ~30x promo at nordstrom last year but that was a mistake apparently. Good timing, though, in light of the UA devaluation.

The AA Mall is my go-to place for buying stuff. Some things are priced higher than other sites but when you add in the 35x or 18x or whatever, it pencils out.

So far it's almost consistently offered the highest payouts when I search. Especially given the United devaluation I think I'm going to focus on AA so I can save my Starwood in case I need it for a different carrier.

I think Aadvantage mall is quite generous compare to other mileage reward malls. United MileagePlus sometimes has promotions. But in general, Aadvantage mall has best rates.

There is a website compares mileage reward malls, you may see that Aadvantage mall has the highest reward for most of stores.

It is almost the holiday shopping season. The mileage earning is higher than normal.
