Lots of Points From My Points!
Hi All -
This morning I noticed a new earning link at the My Points site under Great Deals. It's "more.com" an online drugstore and they are offering 500 points for every order of 10.00 or more and free shipping for life if you are a "charter customer" which I think basically means ordering in these first couple of weeks. So, order each order separately, stock up on Advil, allergy stuff, bandaids, shampoo, whatever, get free shipping, and fly for free!! Yippee! You can earn the 500 points once a day. [This message has been edited by travelmore (edited 08-21-1999).] |
Thanks for the info. It is a great deal. =) |
My big bottle of Advil arrived this morning (Tuesday) by UPS next day air. Not bad for free shipping. I ordered Sunday.
|
I ordered shampoo, advil and toothpaste last saturday. They came today by UPS. WOnder when the 500 points for my purchase would post.

Seven days.
|
I made my first order on the 15th (then the site was greentree.com on mypoint's list, but already a subsection of more.com) and several since then when it was more.com... (oddly these tend to be in the 10.11 - 10.85 range..)
anyway, NONE of the points have posted yet. I have emailed mypoints just a few minutes ago with the order details, but I think this problem may just be with me, as several other orders also werent credited from other sites, including bn.com. HAs anyone else had problems getting creddits in general from mypoints? They did reply within 10 hours when I emailed them a general question telling me to copy the order confirmations to them, so hopefully I will be able to tell you tomorrow the miles showed up. Enjoy this while it lasts... hopefully 40 days... 40*500 = 20,000mypoints = 25,000 miles, meaning each $10.00 is worth 625 miles. yahoo! those going to pip will show up thinner thanks to diet coke and healthychoice and now cleaner and fresher thanks to the shampoos etc from more.com http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
I also am having trouble getting points posted. Getting points is wonderful but not if I have to keep track of every ten dollar order. I am curious how successful others are. With the proliferation of sights like Mypoints, maybe Randy should start some sort of ranking of these sites.

Re: My Points in general. I have found that I have to "keep on them" about the points. I keep a little spiral notebook by the computer and everyday I write the date and what I did on the My Points site. Then when the credit appears in my account I draw a line through that entry in my notebook. I go back once every week or two and send them an email about the one's that they didn't credit me for.
Yes, it's a royal pain in the fannie, but I'm addicted to the miles. Oh, and a lot of the sites state that the points won't be credited immediately. Some say as long as three weeks, but most, such as the more.com site say 7 days. That's not too long to wait for 3,500 miles per week just for saving myself shopping trips. |
Okay, was I too late in going to look for this great deal? I just signed up for my points, and have canvassed the site, but can't seem to find the link to more.com.
Tips? |
Bokich - It is still there there...
Click on Earn Points, then Click on Great Deals. The Logo and link are about half way down the page. |
You know, I coulda sworn it wasn't there before....but it's there now.
Thanks. |
Did any one have their points posted on their MyPoints account for their more.com purchase yet?
Supposed to take 7 days, but it's been over 2 weeks and I have yet to see a single point from my 3 purchases. |
I was just logging on for just that reason, no points posted to my account either. I am skeptical of MyPoints to begin with and this had added to my doubts. I figured I would send them an email but wanted to wait until after the Holiday crunch I am sure they will be reading tomorrow. Let's keep each other updated so we know what happens. I already have 3 gross of Q-Tips and contact lens solution here and don't need anymore if we aren't going to get the miles ;-)
|
I have emailed them for the points. I have several orders in, and the first one I emailed them about I got a reply 36 hours later that they had credited them, they showed up overnight. I have requested several more credits since then, got one reply back and the guy didn't know the offer, thought I was talking about some more magazine, wrote back and pasted the mypoints link page for the offer, but with the holiday weekend I havent heard anything.
will let you all know what happens. I'm making a run for the 20,000 points to get 25K miles instead of the 1:1 for lesser amounts. tg |
Mypoints is a great program, but I find that I never get
automatically credited on any of the deals that involve making a purchase from a merchant. I have to email mypoints to get credit for all of these. Wondering if anyone/everyone has the same experience. |
I think we all have our eye on the same prize: 25K miles for 20k points. But are these guys (MYPOINTS) going to last long enough for any of us to reach 20,000? I'm thinking about cashing in at 5,000 and quit while I'm ahead.
There was another service that awarded points as long as you kept their ad banner displayed on your screen...sort of an odometer that SLOWLY accumulated points as you stayed logged on doing other stuff. One day they send out an email saying "we're closed" sorry, so I'm a bit skeptical these guys will make it either. Anyone know if Mypoints is making money or is otherwise successful enough to stay around? |
Mypoints.com is now publicly traded, I believe on Nasdaq. This is of course good news, it means it has a huge market capitilization, will be around for awhile, and nobody cares how much it loses.
OMNI, I saw the other day that Priceline.com is valued by the market price at $20 billion, about the same as hmm, i forget now, think it was american united and delta combined.... No logic in this market. For more mypoints info, try www.mycoupons.com there are several discussion boards, one about rewards programs where you will come up with many items. cheers. tg [This message has been edited by tummyg (edited 09-28-1999).] |
Of course, this is a press release, so you've gotta take it with a grain of salt, but if popularity is any indicator, mypoints.com might be around for at least a little while.
-------------------------------- MyPoints.com Named Internet's Third Most Popular Shopping Site PR Newswire - Sep 07, 1999 Web Rating Firm PC Data: MyPoints.com Behind Only eBay and Amazon.com In June and July Traffic Reports SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- MyPoints.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: MYPT), a leading provider of Internet direct marketing, incentive and loyalty products, has been recognized as the Internet's third most popular shopping destination. In terms of overall traffic, Web rating firm PC Data's reports for the months of June and July place MyPoints.com just behind eBay and Amazon.com, and well ahead of sites such as CDNOW, CNET, barnesandnoble.com, eToys, and BMG. "Advertisers choose MyPoints.com because we can aggregate the traffic, and give them a set of tools to get people to respond -- personalized, targeted email and Web-based offers, and the ability to give Internet consumers an incentive to act," said Steve Markowitz, Chairman and CEO of MyPoints.com. "PC Data's numbers confirm what we already knew -- we are driving traffic that drives e-commerce." MyPoints.com operates the MyPoints Program, an Internet membership service that rewards consumers for reading and responding to targeted e-commerce offers by email and on the Web. In June, MyPoints.com was ranked third in terms of site traffic, behind eBay (second) and Amazon.com (first), according to PC Data's survey of Web shopping sites. In July, MyPoints.com was also ranked third, behind Amazon.com (second) and eBay (first), according to PC Data. However, the same reports showed that MyPoints.com did lead Amazon.com in other areas. In terms of average time spent online, Internet shoppers in both June and July spent more time on MyPoints.com than on Amazon.com. In the same time periods, MyPoints.com also generated more page views per user than Amazon.com. [snip - omitting company information and “safe harbor” statement] (Copyright (c) 1999, PR Newswire) |
Did anybody got 500 points for shopping at more.com. its been more than 4 weeks and I haven't seen the points. I emailed more.com and they said they can only verify the order and that they don't have anything to do with the 500 points posting. looks like mypoints is being sloppy.
venkat |
Same with me It has been about 4 weeks since my order, but so far no 500 points
|
Same here. I emailed MyPoints 9/8 and still no reply.
|
I made 3 $10 purchases a month ago, and didn't get any points. I e-mailed MyPoints 2 weeks ago, and thus far received no reply. I've all but given up on getting 'em.
|
Well, My Points has stopped responding to my emails too. This doesn't look good. Perhaps there is a consumer organization who can help us? I spent a whole bunch of money based on their promise to give me 500 points each time I did.

Oh, and this is lovely, I tried sending a link to this thread to My Points CEO Steve Markowitz and got the folling response back from him:
"This account is disabled." |
I have received the points for a couple of the orders. Never automatically though. I have been emailing them ([email protected]) whenever the order is more than 7 days old and requesting the points. I copy the order confirmation email into the message, you can delete the name/ship to and items ordered, but be sure to include your email address, date, order number and amount. They are a bit random, sometimes i get a reply in a day and sometimes i get a random reply to say they are working on it/researching and will get back. If you dont hear back in 4 days, email again using the reference code from the autoreply of the original one you sent.
I think I have 3 emails pending now. don't give up, you definately are entitled to the points, and it shouldn't be too big a problem. I think more.com doesnt automatically keep track that you are from mypoints, so unless you tell mypoints you dont get the credit. I think mypoints is going through growing pains right now, hopefully they will improve. Perhaps notifying more.com that we are reducing our orders because we aren't getting the credits will prompt them to have a talk with mypoints. mypoints also has an 800 number, not sure what it is, perhaps you can look on the site and call and try with a real person. good luck |
Had BIG PROBLEMS http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif with Bonus Mail and have never been able to get them to change the account or my points over to MyPoints. They couldn't even do an e-mail change of address. Now that MyPoints has taken over BonusMail I'm still not getting any response to e-mail.
The points from "TalkCity" are posted but nothing else, and never an answer to an e-mail. When I go to the member area of MyPoints there is an error messaage about my e-mail address. I correct it and the next time the same error message is there. I deliberated about getting "snagged" by this again and will be interested to see if the points continue. |
You can also contact mypoints by phone and snail mail.

Thanks for the phone # Student, I will call them.
|
For Mypoints, please try one of these numbers I found on another board. Hopefully their telephone service is better than the email service...
1-888-262-4528 1-888-333-6260. If someone uses these and they work, pls let us know. tg |
Hi Everyone,
I finally got *one* of my 500 miles from More.com posted by MyPoints so there is hope. I am still working on all the others they owe me. I think it is like when we call MCI, it depends who gets your email to work on it at Mypoints. Maybe the ones that don't know what we are talking about just delete it. I have been emailing them every 4-5 days and noticed that if I do NOT use the reply function to their original email, that is when I got the points. Not sure if that matters but I thought I would mention it. Keith |
I just got an emial from mypoints saysing I'll be getting my 500 points for more.com tomorrow.
thats great news. I'll be on a spree buying stuf from more.com for the next many days. venkat |
Although I hate to bring up yet another mypoints thread to the top of the pile, this seems the most appropriate place to ask:
has more.com completely dropped off the mypoints site? and is the great deal section no longer available under Earn Points? I hadn't ordered in two weeks, but was hoping to get a couple more sets of 500 points. |
They got rid of the 'great deals' section and placed everything in the 'shopping' section. You can find more.com in many of the shopping categories. |
I don't know, maybe they've started customizing what we see (based on cookies), cause I checked on the usual suspects (Health & Fitness, Apparel & Beauty, Gifts & Flowers), even the Quicklist of all Merchants, and more.com doesn't show up anywhere.
|
I think they redid the earn great deals on the 22nd, at that time more.com was coming up in the categories, like health, etc as you were looking at, but I was going to order on the 26th and couldn't find it anymore. So I think the answer is: this great point earner is no longer with us. I also checked in the quicklist of merchants, and more.com wasn't in there under either list.
bummer. |
tummyg.....a belated thank you for a GREAT tip. When you posted it I had less than 2,000 Mypoints and now at almost 6,000. Thanks again.
|
After several email exchanges with the folks @ MyPoints, asking if more.com was still a partner, I got the following reply. I'm not sure if the tone of the email is mocking/sarcastic at me or just cluelessness on their part (shouldn't THEY know if more.com is still a partner??) but it doesn't sound good.
Dear Member,Thank you for writing to Member Care. Unfortunately, if you are unable to link to More.com through the MyPoints site, that means that the offer is not currently available. We apologize for the inconvenience. Should you have any additional questions, please contact us at [email protected] . |
