mypoints from food.com
Hi all,
Hi all, Found another site that appears to offer mypoints with purchases. No free ones here, that I have found anyway. food.com is a place where one can order food from restaurants in their area, including preordering, meeting foods, etc etc. Seems to be offered in many largercities right now. The site indicates you will receive mypoints for any order. I could not however find any kind of ratio or details, so don't know how many points/$, if all restaurants offer the same, etc (you may get these details during the order process before you complete the order, i didn't go in that far). Also they have a $15 gift certificate to planetRX (a clickrewards site) when you purchase. So if someone wants to take a look, sign up with food.com (don't sign up with mypoints by food.com it is like mypoints by talkcity, one program with mypoints is enough...) make an order and let us know. If I was in Chicago now I would be the daring soul, but alas. I did know a few of the restaurants on the list, so perhaps someone can find a restarant they like and give it a try. any takers? |
Hello Tummyg.....You seem to have become our MyPoints expert. Thank you for all the tips. I've certainly been racking up the MyPoints thanks to you. http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
I live in the Chicago area & I'll be happy to check out food.com It seems they have two carry out pizza places near my home. Looks like I'll be ordering pizza in the next few days. I'll let you know. ------------------ MilesNut |
Thanks tummyg. http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Assuming all these points come through, I'm going to owe you big time.
I was surprised to find the food site had several restaurants that I normally visit. Guess I could start having them visit me. http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Also some of them participate in Dining for Miles and accept my Hilton Optima. Nothing like a triple dip! I emailed food.com to find out just how many points one receives per dollar spent. Will post when I hear back. Thanks again. [This message has been edited by letiole (edited 09-18-1999).] |
I just signed up at the My Points by Talk City site--I listed your email address tummyg as the referral, so I hope you get something out of it. I didn't mean to sign up there because I already have a My Points account. I'll have to call them and straighten this out. Thanks for the info.

Great Letiole. I was unable to find anything about how many MyPoints. I'll be watching for your post on that.

Well we tried it tonight. It was great. I had a buy one get one free coupon, so I checked the box to have pizza place call me. I wasn't even done saving my order on line when my other phone line started ringing. I told them about the coupon. They asked me what I wanted on my second pizza & that was it. A pop up window told me I earned 95 MyPoints & that this offer is good once an hour up to 5 time per 24 hours. What a great deal. Thank you Tummyg

95 points....so I'm gonna guess you paid $9.50? What's the point to $ ratio?
|
Yes, so was that a $18 imo's pizza or a 9.50 one from somewhere else? making it something like 5 or 10 pts a dollar. A great deal if one of your regular restaurants is on the list, even better if you got a good coupon!
also you should get a giftcertificate to planetrx or cdnow for that order, so there are some more clickrewards or mypoints in there for you. tg p.s. and you are welcome. I have been doing searches for mypoints every once in awhile, lots of junk hits but a few diamonds have come up. |
The pizzas (we ordered 2 with the coupon) were $18.89. I ordered them last night & the MyPoints were in my account this morning. http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Tummyg what is this about a gift certificate to planetrx or cdnow? I must have missed something.

The $15. PlanetRX and $10. Bigstar discounts are shown on the food.com front page (Bigstar not CDNOW, as I said/thought before). You should get a planetrx code emailed to you, and it appears a bigstar code as well. Not sure if they will be coupon codes or even better giftcertificate codes (which might then be used with other coupon codes).
happy shopping. So it seems the food.com payout is about 5 mypoints per dollar, not bad. |
Thanks again Tummyg. I'm waiting until I've ordered a few more time before decide what the dollar to MyPoints ratio is. I'll let you know.
And BTW I've been pretty impressed with www.more.com. 500 points for $10 worth of stuff I'd have to buy anyway is a great deal. So far my MyPoints haven't shown up though. I emailed MyPoints about it & I'm sure they'll show up soon. TalkCity is completely down this morning. An error message says " There is a temporary problem with this award. No Points can be awarded at this time. Please try again in 24 hours." ------------------ MilesNut |
Ok, we ordered pizza through www.food.com again. The same pizza place. The bill was $13.07 this time & I earned 95 MyPoints. The same amount of MyPoints as last time when the bill was $18.89. It looks like it's 95 MyPoints per order.
