To which alliance(s) to commit my points

Hi all! I have been lurking the forums a long time and finally decided to register and start a thread as I have a bit of a dilemma in my hands.

So far this year I've been flying *A (mostly LH) and some AY, so at this moment I got ~30k tier points in LH account and ~10k in my AY+. I still have quite a few trips left this year and now I am wondering, how I should allocate my points.

Choices:

1) Sign up for Aegean and get *A gold, rest of the points to LH and get LH FTL also.

2) Split points and get AY+ Silver and LH FTL.

At the moment 2) feels a bit better but I am not sure.

What are your thoughts?

Considering your goals, I don't see the value of spreading you memberships across multiple programs.

If you were flying a lot more I would say otherwise.

To upgrade you are going to need very high status or a bunch of miles, neither of which will be accomplished by flying 25-30k miles/kms a year on 2-3 different carriers. Nor will this get you into lounges, except of course A3.
