Mypoints - 10 points/day extra link
Hi all The following Reel.com 'visit web sites' link is supposed to give 10 points once a week but for me the blue box that came up said that it was valid every 24 hours. An extra 365 x 10 = 3650 points / year methinks. Here's the link to bookmark. http://www.mypoints.com/mp/bannerGat...ward_id%3D4885 Alternatively you can find the link at the mypoints website. cheers Peter |
Peter!
I noticed that yesterday as well but when I clicked on the link today it said I was only eligible every 7 days. I think they mislabeled the bluebox! Morgan |
I just checked then. Its definently every 24 hours. One to bookmark. Or why not look at my other post on the buzz listing all the 24 hour 10 pointers. You only have to click once for each link and it opens into a separate page. Much quicker. cheers Peter |
Here is that link to the other thread:
http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/001693.html My question is: You list a whole bunch of talkcity.com links, but how does that earn Mypoints points? I see that the bottom link works, points are credited, but not any of the others. [This message has been edited by steve100 (edited 09-17-1999).] |
FFHOUND,
Thanks a lot, I just got another 10 points. BA Fan |
Steve100, you can follow the links peter put on the other page to quickly open up all the surveys. It is possible to bookmark the actual link to the 10 points that appears on the survey results, BUT DO NOT DO THIS! I REPEAT DO NOT DO THIS!!!!!!!!! Mypoints will know that you did not go to the link after completing the survey, and they have terminated peoples accounts for this. For a discussion about it you can go to www.mycoupons.com and under the shopping boards-rewards you can search for a thread about it (I will try to post a link shortly). The point of the talkcity surveys and the points is your exposure to the ads along the way, and this is how mypoints gets revenue from talkcity to pay for the points we are getting ( I know some of you thought the point was to find out the answers to the surveys...)
On the other hand, the point of the deel.com link and the onnow link and links of that type are that you will go visit that site, so you can I guess (read as I did) bookmark those links (just as peter posted here) as they will take you to the points page and the link site, which is how mypoints gets paid here, when you get to the other site. thus, i think it is no problem going that way and saves you the time of going to the mypoints site and digging it up... and thanks peter for the link I hadnt followed it yet and wouldnt have noticed the 24 hour part (since those blue screens are numbing after 18 a day...) tg |
Does anyone know if it is possible to redeem MyPoints miles towards NWA miles, I only saw Delta and United as an option?
Any feedback greatly appreciated. BA Fan |
tummyg and Peter, thank you for your posts.

BA FAN, I don't know where you saw United and Delta as options, as far as I know you can only get AA miles (via vacationmiles) or You can get Alaska Air Miles, at a slightly higher cost, 1,500 mypoints = 1,000 miles, no higher ration for higher points... You can redeem Alaska miles on several (many) airlines, including BA I believe, but I dont think they are conbinable, so you'd have to get the full award amount into an Alaska account. AA gets the best exchange at 25000miles for 20K mypoints, 1:1 for 5K or more mypoints, and lower for laess than 5K mypoints... No NWA miles that I can find. sorry.
anyone find something different? [This message has been edited by tummyg (edited 09-18-1999).] |
As far as miles is concerned, the only options are AA or Alaska. But you can also get AA or DL tickets directly from points. But no DL miles from points.

ffhound, BIG THANKS http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif for the mypoints timesaver links. It works great!!
I think: You can use the Alaska Air miles with Northwest. Also AA is partners with Alaska Air. So it is cheeper miles with mypoints to get them with AA and then fly Alaska. But AA does not = Alaska Air to fly Northwest. A partner of a partner doesn't work http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Did I figure all this correct? [This message has been edited by wonderer (edited 09-20-1999).] |
Wonderer, Exactly.
If you want miles other than AA, you can go through Alaska (they have a great list of major partners - probably some with all the "alliances"), or Hilton (1 to 1) and then convert at the rewards exchange ratio, taking 1 mypoint down to 1/3 of a mile (at 30Khonors to 10,000 miles-i think that is right??, which still isn't too bad I suppose...) or the delta award mentioned above through vacationmiles, think this is limited to a US domestic. anyway, back to the topic at hand. THanks peter. and pgupta, to you and everyone else that said thanks, you're welcome (and BTW, nice photo with all those cards). glad everyone is enjoying this and lets hope all these points stay around for awhile. tg |
Thanks to you both tummyg and Peter for your effirts here. Interestingly, I tried this link, since you made it so easy, twice now and each time it says "Sorryy, your're only eligable evry 24 hrs- even though I'd never been before -and I get the same message again despite another 24 hrs having passed! Strange!
|
I clicked on it just now and it says that's for a 7-day period, not 24 hrs http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif. But still 10 points every week. Thanks Peter.
|
I just got the 7 day message also...
